    NFL changes logo for 2008

NFL boardroom. Young Madison Ave. executive in black silk turtleneck and hip modern glasses speaks: "The team all felt really strongly that the old football simply HAD to go. The horizontal position of the ball and length were ALL WRONG for the NFL's target audience. Men in this...

    Kalil vs Koppen (vs Mangold)

I've always thought Koppen was an above average starting center. Is kalil considered to be MUCH better? How is Kalil rated vs Mangold last year? I ask because Pat Kirwan (among others) has us picking Kalil at 28. I personally don't know why we'd do that. I can't see either Kalil or...

    Two Important Draft Day Thoughts

How so? What if the trade is 1st this year for a 2nd this year and 1st next year? How is that "entirely self destructive"? Even if it were a 1st for two 2nds... 1st's are better than 2nds but you have to figure quantity in in addition to quality.

    235lb RB, 4.39 40, 6.51 3 Cone, 41" Vertical - 5th Rd???

What's your guess on the round? I'm guessing mid forth. Does that sound about right?

    235lb RB, 4.39 40, 6.51 3 Cone, 41" Vertical - 5th Rd???

What do you all know about Jackie Battle? Can he block? Catch? Run the ball? His numbers are NUTS! University of Houston's Big back JACKIE BATTLE has caused a buzz after his stellar Pro Day evaluation (March 23rd). Battle, who came in at 6'2", 238 lbs, ran 4.41 / 4.38 in the 40 (low...

    Running Back at 28

GI want to make sure we have an awesome running back in the playoffs, and I think Lynch is going to be really good. Two running backs seems to be a good idea (http://www.startribune.com/101/story/948464.html) Ball control, time of possession, a grinding clock killing ground game to complement a...

    Running Back at 28

I'd condone Lynch at 24 if he fell, but none of the other non-Petersons in the first.

No SB since Ty Law left - Gotta target CBs no?

Yes. It's really easy to get hung up on these workout numbers, but really what difference does .2 seconds make? That's a very small difference -over a 40 yds distance... So much of being good at sports is anticipation, the 4.56 guy is faster to the ball than the 4.36 guy when the 4.36 guy...

No SB since Ty Law left - Gotta target CBs no?

Oh yeah.... but would you agree that there is a premium on quality CBs in our scheme since the weakness on paper is pass defense?

No SB since Ty Law left - Gotta target CBs no?

After reading this article on the basics of the 3-4 defense (http://football.calsci.com/DefensiveLine3.html), it sunk in that the 3-4 is great against the run but can be a liability against a fast passing team... and it occured to me that we haven't won a SB since our best corner left after...

Historically, The first round is a crapshoot

It seems like PnP's criteria for counting a player is changing over the course of this thread. The initial post implied that included in the 25% were reserve players that contributed significant playing time ... now PnP is saying that guys that made the probowl a few times don't count if they...

    Trading out of 1st

You think only teams with two second rounders would consider a trade? Could you explain your thinking there? I think it could be any team. Plausible reasons: 1) Someone drops Team needs a tight end and Olsen is still there. Team needx a RB and Lynch is there. etc. 2) Their draft...

    Trading out of 1st

Box... I don't get what you're saying in the Marquis Hill, Ellis Hobbs sentence. Is your point that not all 2nd rounders are better than all third rounders? If so, yes, I agree. I also agree that you would have to look at who's available at #91 before trading into next year. You...
