After recent reports that neither he or the Patriots have been speaking to one another on a new contract, Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes sounds like he's ready to make a change this offseason.

The soon-to-be free agent linebacker appeared on NFL Network's 'NFL AM' and said during the intervierw that both he and the Patriots could use a "fresh start", which would lead you to believe his days in New England are over.

"I would never say never," said Spikes regarding returning to New England, "you know, everybody [says] you never want to burn a bridge, but I just feel like both sides could benefit from a fresh start."

Spikes also said during the interview that he'd be surprised if the Patriots released veteran tackle Vincent Wilfork.

"If he hits the free agency, I would be shocked," said Spikes. "I think the Patriots love him, the organization up there, Boston loves him. He's been there for a while. I just honestly can't see him leaving."
