Last time Pats fans heard from Kembrell Thompkins, radio announcer Scott Zolak was searching for show ponies and asking where’s the beef as Thompkins hauled in the winning score against the Saints with five seconds remaining early in the 2013 season.
Thompkins played in 12 games for the Patriots during his 2013 rookie season, snatching 32 receptions and four touchdowns. He played in only two games in 2014 before being released and claimed off waivers by the Raiders the remainder of the season.
With the Patriots waving receivers Josh Boyce and Jonathan Krause on Monday and with Brandon LaFell reportedly still missing practices while on the physically unable to perform list it should be interesting to see if the Patriots examine the possibility of bringing back Thompkins to add depth in the interim.
