undisclosed disease

(edit: the initial ESPN report was updated to mention that it was from brain cancer, as I guess Curt Shilling revealed rececently)

He was only 57 and by all accounts a great guy, great teammate, great family man, member of the community, and was always fun to watch. That knuckler could dance!

He was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Very sad to see at that young an age.

God speed

Sox should retire his number. #3 all time wins and could have been #1 but realized life was so much more.

RIP
Prayers to his surviving family

Sorry to hear, RIP Wake

He was a genuine good guy. This is very sad.

I didn't know he was sick...very sad news. I always liked and appreciated him. Class act

Great pitcher. Great teammate. And a really great guy. Damn, way too young.
