Report: Broncos to use exclusive tag on Von Miller

By using the exclusive tag, the Broncos risk an uptick in linebacker contracts with high 2016 cap numbers, which would drive up the exclusive tender beyond $14.129 million.

Too bad the Pats don't have a ridiculous amount of cap room, but even so, if they resign both Hightower and Collins and load up the cap hit for 2016, they could seriously up Miller's salary and put the Broncos in some serious salary cap trouble.

Screwing with other teams is always secondary to improving the Patriots. What you suggest would not accomplish the latter goal.

Whatever damage the Patriots do to their own cap is 1/5 or 2/5 of what it does to the Broncos. The franchise number is an average of the top 5 highest paid players at the position. Seems like a losing proposition and one that only an obsessed teams like the Jets would do in a desperate attempt to minimally hurt their rival while shooting themselves in the foot. In addition, when it comes to salaries and the cap, the owners are friends with each other, and all of them are trying to keep the salaries down.

Denver will not be the same team without Peyton next year he did not play great in the playoffs but they do not get the #1 seed if Peyton dose not come into the last game of the season and they dont beat the pats with out Peyton at QB.

the AFC weast is only geting better with oakland and KC and San Diego is never a easy out for them. Denver may not win more then 10 or 11 games next year and thats only if there Defense is in the top 2 or 3 again so no reason to hurt your own team by over paying player that could be signed at a good price in a year or two

I disagree with several points of your post, first they would win a game against the Chargers, in Denver, even with Gary Kubiak at QB. The AFC West is not getting better, Oakland and San Diego are 2 crap teams that will keep stinking forever, OK Oakland had a better season last year but when they needed to win they **** the bed. San Diego stinks, they will not win more than 6 games next season.

The QB situation will only improve and Denver has the pieces to be in the AFC race against the Patriots again. I agree with your last point though.

It would still be as funny as Hell though. Quite ironic give their history managing the cap.

When did we turn into the Jets?

The Broncos will collapse on their own.

Talking about the Broncos of all teams, they know how you create more cap space if needed....

Aren't the tag numbers already released?
