Wait? Does this say that Van Noy lost a bet where he had to drop and do 20 push-ups, yet couldn’t finish them so he had to run laps instead?

That would seem rather odd to me.

The wording was odd. He said he could bowl a strike but failed and dropped and gave them 20. The piece says 'running off' 20....hence the confusion, perhaps Ian borrowed a Guerrero term for doing push ups. I looked at the original linked article and it makes no reference to not finishing the push ups.
