Yes... but he's 20 years old... Have you seen him, he's got braces. He looks like a kid/monster man child with immense talent, work ethic character etc. Not sure how any of us would behave if we were 20 years old, and drafted high in the first round of the NFL draft.
Does N'Keal remind anyone of Terrel Owens in his playing style (not behavior)?
TO was not the fastest guy but was a very physical, imposing WR who was great after the catch and playing the jump ball.
I don't think anyone is going to replace Gronk in any capacity. A future hall of famer and one of the best TE to ever play the position. Maybe Shockey in his prime (though not the same blocker) or other hall of famers. But to expect anyone to come in and replace what Gronk could do and make look...
Agree.
One thing we've learned is when you draft a player... you get the whole person not just a set of skills and attributes like in Madden. The personality traits drive work ethic, how much the player will improve and overall team culture.
There's an old story I read at one point... of BB's...
To look at JJW as a corner in the traditional sense doesn't make that much sense to me. He would not do well against 5'9 super quick receivers and to put him in that position would not make sense.
I think JJW was brought in specifically as a chess piece to match up vs. the big WR/TE skill set...
I think Mayo is a good player for us. He is a pro, and a leader on this defense.
That being said, I don't think he had his best game Sunday (sample size = 1 game). When your defense gives up ~200 yards on the ground your front 7 as a whole did not play well, and this includes Mayo one of two...
Seems like the least likely penalized way to go is to give the QB an aggressive hug, wrap him up so he can't move and wait until the ref blows the play dead. And if you do tackle the QB, after taking him down you need to let go and roll off so the QB hits the turf on his own.
It's one game. I think they can bounce back as they have based on past performances and their winning % after losses.
That being said, one part of the game that requires major adjustments is the offensive line and our long standing elite OL coach is gone. Can the new guy coach up his guys...
Losing to the Dolphins was fine with me. It's a game, you win some you lose some. My issue with the loss was specifically how we lost. It seemed to me that we got beat up in the trenches and so I wanted a closer look...After re-watching the game (in slow motion at times) to understand what...
While I don't agree with attacking people...
I do think it's one game and that the mistakes need to be corrected. First and foremost shore up the lines. Then we can complain about the linebackers/running backs, and everything else.
It's hard to judge much of anything objectively in this game due to the lack of line play on both sides of the ball. Brady, WRs, run game, secondary play. You can't stop the run, the offense does what it wants... Conversely, you can't run, the D pins its ears back and comes after your QB...
Watching Boyce play... I see a guy who plays the game without a fire. Like a guy who suddenly realized his natural talent isn't going to be enough anymore.
I went to training camp today, here are my observations:
Revis is smooth as silk in coverage. Him and Edleman competing is a pleasure to watch.
Can anyone else confirm I saw this correctly (happened on the far end of the field) or are my eyes going bad? Harmon got into it with somebody from...
I believe you're talking about KT vs Browner. If so, the next play had Browner slamming KT to the ground which resulted in the O'Shea altercation which Browner later apologized for to O'Shea.
I think this is a good thing on a few levels. On one, it builds team spirit if the team can grow from...
Love moving up rumors. My favorite was the move up to draft Vernon Gholston! Have you seen that dude in a t-shirt??
On a serious note, would love to see Watkins here. But I'll dream on. And in any event, Atlanta showed us the cost/benefit of moving up for a top ranked WR in Julio Jones. If he...
That depends on if he loves playing and can convince the evaluator he is speaking to he loves it. Hell, if you love the game it should show by the way you talk about your fondest memories playing. From pop warner to college.
If I recall correctly Matt Light was in the same boat. He wasn't a...
Mixing 1 gap and 2 gap principles in the same defense allows for much more flexibility for a defense.
For instance, Vince can 2 gap the A gap (left and right of the center), while the LDE 2 gaps his man usually the tackle in the C gap, and the linebacker owns the B gap, all the while the...
I don't think it's a matter of being ready or not ready.
It's not that simple of a matter.
I think the questions are multiple:
What is the pain going to be like?
What are physical limitations?
What are the odds of doing long term damage?
Those are the sort of things you manage...
