I don't think Drew's ever "been benched/replaced by a rookie". Neither Brady nor Romo were rooks, and Losman also replaced Bledsoe as a second year QB.

Merriman sent Jason Taylor a gift basket with a Chargers hat, a "Light's out" T-shirt, and popcorn among other things because he was bitter about losing DPOY to him. He also said to the media that he hoped Taylor enjoyed watching him in the playoffs.
