The Pats went 14-3 last year. 2 of the 3 losses were to the same team; the Jets. Anyone who doesn't consider them the biggest threat is a blind homer. I hate the Jets as much as anyone, but they've won what, 3 of the last 5 against the Pats? Absolutely, positively no doubt they are the biggest...
Man, PFT is a joke. They think the Pats won by a lot in hopes that it would somehow result in them losing the next 4 games and missing the playoffs. Uh, what?
Re: Jets vs Patriots - Take 2
If they're smart, they should stick with tonight's second half gameplan: control the ball and keep Manning (Brady) off the field. Spreading it out and trying to score on us was the dumbest thing they could have done in the 45-3 game.
If you said Manning's D would only give up 17 points, you'd chalk it up as a win. But then again, I guess this is the same debate as the 07 SB, whether it was Brady's fault or the D. The difference: Mannings D has been "not good enough" 10 times, Brady's once. Draw your own conclusions.
I'll take it a step further and say the Pats defense is completely the opposite. Obviously I never saw the coaches tape, but I'm pretty confident the week 2 gameplan against the Jets was much more "plain vanilla" than it was the second time around. Sure, the defense has gotten better, but I'm...
By ADD medicine? Don't think so.
Pretty much everything in this thread has been said. Spikes is a far superior run stopper; Guyton is beyond bad against the run. I focused on him a lot of the game yesterday; he gets blocked out of his gap on most plays. He's fast in pass coverage, but has...
Anyone who wants to play the Ravens is a moron. We've won two of three against them, but the wins easily could have gone either way, and the loss was a blowout. They are easily my most-feared playoff team.
Since it looks like Pats will have home field, I don't fear the Chargers at all. They're...
This is a good example of why it's too early to look at anything other than the first two tiebreakers. Pats beat the Ravens, who the Jets lost to, but the Pats lost to the Browns, who the Jets beat, making them even. However, the Jets also lost to GB, who the Pats have at home in two weeks. If...
Underrated punt returner as well. I know he set up at least one go-ahead drive earlier in the year with a big return. Very good player who rarely makes bad mistakes. Maybe not the same impact as missing Bart Scott or something, but pretty big still.
Didn't read him the first time around but the second time he sure came off as a clown. Shockingly arrogant and really not right all that often. He also seemed to make no effort to acquire sources while he was here and just went with his own opinion more than anything. He came off as a less...
You can't overlook anyone. The Lions, like the Browns, have lost most of their games by very slim margins. They aren't that bad, and we're on the road on a short week. Not exactly a week to "give the kid some reps."
Second, Edelman is a totally different story. He picked up the position...
Misleading stat. At least 5 of the touchdowns (and probably 500 or so yards) were in meaningless mop-up time (Bengals and Steelers). That puts it at around 2000 yards, 11 TDs and 13 INTs. Really not that bad...
Why does everyone keep thinking this guy will play this year? He's an emergency option. He's at least 2-3 years away from contributing in the NFL because he was essentially a blocker in college. He has skills but he could be the rawest player in the league. Can we please put this subject to bed...
A game jersey wouldn't be left in a locker in the middle of the week. They hang the jerseys Sunday morning, and wash them right after the game...and aren't put back in lockers until the next game. It's probably an old pic and the guy used photoshop or something.
And according to this...
Woodhead is a change of pace back, regardless of what formation he's running out of. The only times I remember him running when Brady is under center is in the no huddle.
