Forecast was for sunny and high temperatures at Foxboro today. My guess is that the team thought it would be to their advantage to wear white uniforms.
Roll your eyes if you want, but this team has played a horrible game a few times before and come back to win a Super Bowl. Maybe you should root for another team that wins all the time. Oh...I forgot...that team doesn't exist.
You are missing the point. Remember the season opener against Buffalo in 2003? 31-0. Brady puts up less points than Cassell and the Defense gives up huge plays. The Patriots win the SB that year. Bad game. Good team. Learn and move on.
Up until last year, the usual horrible game came against an AFC East opponent. This year it came against the Dolphins in Week 3. I am glad it is done wth. Now they have two weeks to get angry about it and come back to beat the 49ers.
My guess is he tweaked it a little bit and the coaches held him out of the media portion in order to: 1.) Treat it and 2.) Throw some uncertainty the Jets way. I am not going to worry about it until Sunday.
Ahhh Power Rankings. Gotta love em. I think the bottom line in these so called expert rankings is the following:
Power Rankings = Big Fat Nothing
Most of these internet columnists (be it Fox, CBS, ESPN, etc.) are hacks, pure and simple. Do you notice how the real NFL analysts for the...
I have to say, from a television viewers point of view, the crowd sounded louder then usual on Sunday. Maybe it was the drama of the moment or Cassell coming in and throwing the TD to Moss, followed by Morris' TD, but they did sound loud when KC had the ball. I think Dierdorf actually made...
Thanks for posting the transcript. Belichick talking about the Jets is always interesting. It seems like the gravity of the situation always goes up a little during Jets week (current events aside.)
Funny how you judge Cassell before even getting a chance to see him play much. Considering the most recent playing time he has gotten resulted in three scoring drives and helping the team win the opener, I say give at least a bit of chance before finding his talent lacking.
How anyone can think that bringing in another starting QB, in Week Two, veteran or not, who hasn't an inkling of what the Patriots system is like, is unfathomable. I agree that they will probably bring in a third QB at some point but I believe that such a player would be a last resort. Cassell...
It will be interesting to see whether or not they do make a move before that Jets game. Unless someone who thay covet becomes available I think they might wait until the bye week. Stability might be a good thing right now if the team can avoid any other significant injury.
As far as fan (or media) reactions go, it just doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what happens on the field and in that regard, the Patriots are still a very good team.
