I sure hope so, he's looked great at Corner for us and a tandem of him and Dennard should be with us for the foreseeable future. It's not like there's anything so obviously better on the free agent than Talib anyway.
Welker isn't a loss that the Patriots can't overcome. I love Wes and what he has done for us these past 6 years but if he wants big money then I say no, as we can use for stuff that we need help on and with Brady, Gronk, Hernandez, Lloyd, possibly another WR via draft or FA and McDaniels we will...
Brian Hartline is someone who intrigues me. The free agent market for big name Wide Receivers is top heavy with guys like Bowe, Jennings, Wallace and possibly Welker due to receive a lot of attention and money. That may leave a big, deep threat guy like Hartline come for a reasonably low cost...
Talib is a must, the defence went from shutdown to complete garbage tonight in his absence.
I like Welker and he has an important role and would hope to resign him but hopefully not for too much money as I think adding a Safety, another pass rusher and a deep threat are more pressing needs...
It's impossible to really put it on one guy on offence specifically. I mean look at the last drive of the second and the first 3 drives of the third.
1. Last Drive of Fourth - Terrible Clock Management - This one is on Brady and Belichick, one of them should've summed up the situation better
2...
Re: After Talib went down, and Arrington took over, Patriots were done..
It wasn't Arrington, it was Cole who was the problem. Every time the Ravens had a big play in the second half I looked up and saw no. 23 Cole. I thought Arrington actually played reasonably adequate in Talib's place.
A discouraging loss for sure, but we'll be back and better next year. A healthy Gronk, a healthy Talib, a healthy Jones and this game might've been a lot different and if we have those next year we are even better. We also made too many crucial mistakes (drops, penalties, time management etc.)...
I'm relatively happy with what I've seen from Mallett, his passing has been a bit up and down, but his pocket presence and reads have been relatively solid and the O-Line is just awful.
