... that's what a lot of Lions fans were thinking/hoping for when the news broke, but it's been pointed out, a) that RBs (some, not all) start to decline after reaching the 800 - 1000 carry plateau and MJD has had 1400+ touches, b) he's going to want a new, bigger contract, c) salary cap, d)...
... unless he was referring to something in the CBA that limits how much a team can discipline a player(?) ... IDK, I didn't understand why they were tolerating so much of that BS before finally pulling the trigger ... hopefully this means they'll be more consistent in the future.
Thanks, the Lions have made it clear that they're trying to follow the Patriots template for success ... I'm hoping they don't leave out two of the most important factors, character & discipline. :)

... well, he certainly is no Bill Belichick (and how many HCs are?), but he is my asshat, so he doesn't get thrown under the bus just yet ... as the Lions continue to trend toward lacking discipline & self-control, I eventually will blame the HC if the team doesn't start taking appropriate...
... not to get off the thread topic, but TR has a legitimate point ... anyone that has ever competed at a high level of contact sport and/or been in a locker room at that level, understands the Saints situation is Goodell acting in a politically correct manner to protect the league from future...
Good thread, lotta' good points ... this is a sore issue between me & the Lions, and one that I honestly feel will prevent them from moving onto the next level if it isn't recognized or addressed. It's a broader issue then even the arrests (6 this offseason alone), it encompasses all the...
