FWIW Greg Cossel thought Perriman was a first rounder before his 40. Says his physical traits remind him of Julio Jones.
I personally think WR is very low on the Pats list of needs. I'm also not sure if Brady's strength is throwing the long ball but if he's the BPA then maybe it's a possibility.
The Pats have Brady in a great cap situation. What better person to spend that savings on than Revis? I don't want to go back to days of Darius Butler, Ras I, S Moore, and other JAGS.
What about a Moderator who says " I don't recall anytime during the regular season or the playoffs that I saw "great" play. (from Revis)? To me that is equally baffling.
Huh? Did Revis do that on the Pats?? If this is about what Revis did when he was with the Jets then I guess you were calling him Whore24 while he was helping the Pats win a SB.
According to Mike Reiss it didn't matter what the Pats offered him because somehow the Pats knew the Jets were going to beat their offer.
ps. I personally don't think the Jets offer was crazy money.
I like how the OP pointed out the lunacy on both sides of the issue instead of railing on people making claims on just one side of the issue.
I personally think the team may be ok with a patch work secondary if the offense can be dominant. The addition of Chandler helps but they still need an...
I'm not disagreeing with you and it sounds like you aren't disagreeing with me though you clicked disagree on my comment. I was saying that the Pats could have matched the guarantees and gotten under the cap. It was doable but the Pats chose not to do it. To say they couldn't match the guarantee...
The Pats could have given him a a$50 million signing bonus and the cap hit would have been $10M this year. The other $5M in cap hits is from last year and has nothing to do with his new deal. Obv they wouldnt give him that right now but the point is there are ways to work with the cap. To say...
I have to think that part of BB's thinking is that even with Revis, Browner etc on defense they still got toasted by Baltimore in the playoffs and Seattle at times in the SB (particulary before the end of the first half.) Maybe his thinking is to pay more on offense to make sure they can keep...
That's just not true. There's always room to work the cap. This is particularly true if they hadn't signed McCourty.
To say the Pats couldn't give money upfront actually implies the Pats don't adle the cap well.
Jimmy g is better than Mallett already but that being said, many people are over rating him. I would trade him for Haden in a second. JG is completely unproven.
Do the Pats get a comp pick since Revis was effectively cut, not necessarily a FA?
What are the best guesses around here for a tampering pick? Swap of 2nd rounders? Sure we may deserve more but it's Goodell.
For a 3rd round comp pick and a move up from 32 to 6 in the 2nd round I'm ok with this.
