I can't argue with much that you say here.
The media isn't always respectful. 100 percent agree.
As much as I love twitter to keep up on my sports news. It has severely destroyed journalism in at least one sense. There was always a fight to be the first to have a story, but nowadays we're...
You certainly do not come across as a **** with that question. It is however a very loaded one. And even more so extremely subjective. If we disagree on the role of the media neither one of us is correct or incorrect.
In my opinion, the sports media is really there to cover events for the...
Can't say I disagree. As I said in the following message I was more just generalizing the attitude that has developed around here over the last decade and a half or so. And I'm not saying this as a way to bash anyone in particular, I just don't get the line of thinking.
Oh and I'm just speaking as a generalization. I didn't listen to the Amendola interview, so I don't have an opinion on how he handled it. I'm more so saying that I don't understand where this idea that's it's a positive thing to not treat the media with respect. They are just doing their job.
I'll never fully understand the attitude that has developed around here that being a **** to the media is somehow a good thing. Sure, it can be funny. But at some point it can be aggravating too. Just as an example, there were people on here praising Stork for his post draft press conference...
PT 1: I was moreso speaking of how soon we get accurate lists. I definitely have to concede this point though because I have a feeling your moreso speaking of knowing if a stud player will be missing. If one of the stars aren't out there that would definitely stick out.
PT 2: You may miss some...
The only things I really see your point on is the defensive back alignment (and really only the safeties, or safety, not in the box), off-camera flags (granted they have the flag indicator which does a decent job), and real-time receivers patterns. And I guess I also can't really argue the...
While I like to make it to the occasional game, football is the only sport where the live experience doesn't live up to the one I get on the TV. And I don't think it is even close.
If he can stay healthy, I'm almost positive that he can match what he did last year. But I'm also of the mind that it isn't necessarily a good thing that he does (at least if we're talking 100 receptions). I feel like a lot of bad things would have to happen for him to get all of those...
The fake ones that were going around a year or two ago were pretty sick. Even though we'll never see it in real life on the field they were my favorite.
The current ones are probably my favorite real ones though. I'm in the minority of hating the old school uniforms. I grew up with the Flying...
Slightly OT: I swear that Chandler Jones has to lead the league in most times held without generating a holding call. I feel like that has to start evening out eventually as he becomes more established in the league. It has driven me nuts the last couple of years.
You have to remember that the base defense is becoming less-and-less relevant these days. According to Mike Reiss, last year they only ran 30.9 percent of their snaps in it, and I think it is more than fair to assume that this trend continues in 2014. So when Easley would hypothetically be...
I always actually thought of him as the polar opposite of Ridley. He wasn't going to tear off many big runs, but you knew he was going to keep the ball secure and give you at least a few yards. However, sadly your current designation for him is pretty spot on.
#5 Beauharnais/Cameron Gordon - This is subject to change if they bring in a vet. But even if they use primarily two linebackers, one of these two guys very well could see quite a bit of snaps. I'm hoping that one of them really establishes himself really early in camp to make me feel slightly...
I think they can completely afford to do this in the subsets. Mayo (barely) and Collins are better in coverage anyway. If they wanted to slide him up to DE and kick Jones inside a handful of times a game they could get away that.
I agree that the biggest problem that the offense possessed last year was they didn't replace the production from the tight end position from the previous year. What I don't agree with is that the lost production necessarily needs to come from that position. If Gronk gives them what he gave last...
