He's pretty intriguing though. The National Football Post has him falling to us at #27, so who knows where he'll go (or if we have to move very far to get him).
I think you can find guys with strong intangibles throughout the draft. I do like Barron, but it's hard for me to see BB jumping up to the 10-15 range to grab this kid unless he's really high on his ability (along with the intangibles, dedication to football, work ethic, etc).
BB will know...
Unless BB views Mark Barron as the second coming of Ed Reed, I can't see him moving up that far to get him. He did move up for Daniel Graham though (where ironically, sitting pat would have allowed him to draft Ed Reed).
There are a lot of attractive qualities for Williams that New England presents:
1. Playing for a consistent winner/contender for SB each year
2. The versatility of playing defense for BB
3. Having TB as his QB
4. Excellent ownership and facilities
Hard for the other 3 main contenders...
I suggest you stop caring and listening to what a bunch of morons say in the comments sections of blogs and website. Any fan who has half a brain will tell you that the Pats are one of the most respected franchises in the NFL. If they bring up spygate, it's mostly as a tease. If you're hearing...
I expect the Pats to pursue this guy and have a fair shot of signing him. BB has a history of being involved when marque players at this position become available (see Colvin, Thomas, Peppers). Colvin was a good player during his time, and would have most likely been a star if not for a freak...
I'm a daily reader, but don't post very often. A few thoughts:
What frustrates me most is that the defense played extremely well, but was not complemented by the offense. The first 9 points can be put directly on the offense and obviously the last TD is situational. Given the playmakers' on...
I love our ownership and would put them up there with any other. I believe due to longevity, would have to be Pitt, Giants, and Packers (no particular order). You could probably add Kansas City to the group as well.
Better poll might be ownerships you least admire. That's a tough one to rank...
One of the silver linings to being eliminated where the Pats were is the opportunity to coach the pro bowl and get to know some of these players.
If you have the opportunity to sign Ngata to a deal similar to Wilfork, you do it. Football is won in the trenches and he'd be the perfect guy to...
Re: offseason moves ?? What this team needs !!!
Pretty much agree with everything said.
If there is a bright spot to an early exit (and I'm obviously stretching with this, b/c there are few bright spots), it is that the team has extra time to prepare for the draft. Two of the best drafts...
Re: Imagine what Brady would do if he had.....
Regarding the comment on their D. The D was fired up and very aggressive last night, similar to how many posters here wish the Pats would play. However, with that aggressiveness comes a lot of gambling, as well as GB still putting up 20 points.
I think Polamula's pick against San Diego last year (the one handed scoop) may be the greatest INT I have ever seen. I'm a big fan of Meriweather, but he's not even close to being in the convo with Reed and Troy.
I do wonder if BB's admiration for Reed, and us not picking him and instead...
Any of the non stadium lots should be good though, correct? I'll probably get there around 930, so we're there fairly early. Should we just take the first lot we see a mile back, or some of the non stadium lots as we get closer. I've never really paid attention to the other lots, are any of them...
Thanks. I think I'm going to go with one of those lots (dealership, liquor store, etc). Do they all (or most) open about 4 hours before the game (like the stadium)?
I'm going to the game this weekend, and have a question regarding how long it takes to get out of the stadium and back to Boston on average. I have to catch a bus this weekend around 7 o'clock, and want to know if I'll be ok, or if I should park at a lot up the road.
Usually when I go to...
People don't like to lose to the Jets...plain and simple. If we had lost to the dolphins in the same manner, people wouldn't be this frantic. The offense was off and had a bad game, the D was fine. It's a long season, and this team will improve as the year goes on.
Re: It could be worse you know .....
I'm not trying to pick on you, I'm just saying that there's 10 threads either trying to rationalize the loss or saying we're doomed. We should just analyze what went wrong and look to the next game, instead of thinking about the whole season, and...
