I think this is something getting lost in the shuffle of the WR room talk.
Douglas had a very efficient, promising rookie season. Really had some great flashes.
That being said, what’s the expectation for him? Is he seen purely as a gadget-type 3rd receiver? Or is there WR1/WR2 potential in...
You know 2024 won’t be the last ever Patriots draft, right?
Why the hell is it so assumed QB’s will grow on trees, but we’ll never land a franchise LT if we don’t take one early this year?
I swear a portion of this fanbase learned nothing from the contrast between 20 years with Brady, and the last 3-4 with Cam/Mac.
There’s a delusion that LT is equally as important as QB. It just isn’t.
No picks in the draft are guarantees to begin with.
If we take a QB at 3 and he busts, I will be okay with it. It just means we’d likely be in a position to try again in 2-3 years. I’ll take that over building a great roster with an average QB, turning into a perennial 8-10 win team for the...
You do have to wonder if that Patriots will sit tight until post draft for late FA additions. Usually some vets will wait until summer to sign with teams, plus some random cuts/trades still will happen during that time as well.
Not having that 2nd pick and the Commanders tanking down the stretch is gonna be aggravating in hindsight.
I would’ve been all over dangling that 2 pick in front of Washington for the 3rd pick + both of their 2nd rounders.
This is why the one scenario that intrigues me is one where we do a 3 way trade with Minnesota and the Chargers, where we get pick 5.
I don’t want to be in a position not to get one of those top four guys.
