My guess is if the Pats get a QB who can throw on time with anticipation one will be amazed as to how much more separation the current batch of receivers will have. Maybe Brissett can be that guy.
Brady won with Arians after 20 years of BB's coaching. He wasn't a rookie. One will never know if he would have won any had he had 20 years of Arians' coaching.
But final say could, and usually is, that the consensus is to do this, so that's what we'll do (i.e. draft Jones), personal opinion aside, recognizing that others have knowledge. Having final say doesn't mean you trump the consensus.
My point exactly, while BB may have made all of the football decisions, he was constrained by "this is how much cash you have to spend this year (usually less than others)." RK was spoiled by how well BB was able to succeed within the constrains (while he had TB).
I don't think it was a fault of McVey's scouting as I think McVey had a pretty high grade on Strange but was hoping all other teams were relying on the mock drafts and he could get a steal. It now appears multiple teams also had high grades on Strange.
