With everyone left at OT Paul is the most interesting so I agree, no need to get tricky take the best OT prospect here then take the top remaining WR with the next pick
Jermaine Burton ave 20.5 yards per catch and had 8 TDS. He also has large hands close to 10".
That's the kind of big play capability we need. He is my favorite Wr from the remaining players available
Belichick broke down the 6 QBs before the draft pointing out their strengths and what part of their game they needed to improve at the NFL level.
When talking about them he specifically highlighted Williams and Maye as having the most potential and it almost seemed like he would have loved to...
If the Pats FO truly thought that Maye or JJ was the next Tom Brady they wouldn't be fielding trade offers.
You don't hear any noise that the Bears or Washington are fielding offers. Why? They have the guy they believe will be their franchise QB.
Clearly the Pats either don't feel that way...
Idk Mac Jones did make a probowl and I would be happy having him as a backup.
That's a pretty good floor IMO for a QB. Obviously you want the QB to better but no realistic floor is solid starter for years for any position.
I don't think that's true in regards to late risers.
Both Aaron Donald and JJ Watt were viewed as 2nd rd talents early in the draft process and lots of peeps on this board had mocks with Donald and Watt being drafted by us in the 2nd, then the 1st, then a slight trade up for them followed by...
Have to wonder if no Pats legend wanted to announce the draft pick due to the way Belichick has been treated post leaving.
I thought it was time for Belichick to leave but he hasn't deserved all the negativity that has come from the Docuseries or alleged Kraft trashing him to Arthur Blank.
I don't think they would trade up for a WR considering there are a lot of talented WRs in the 2nd to 3rd range.
Trading up for OT makes the most sense.
In other words it was determined that resolving the tampering this week could improve the Vikings draft stock which could indirectly help facilitate a trade up with the Pats and since the Pats could potentially benefit from any resolution this week it has been determined that the investigation...
I'd puke if they thought JJ was the better prospect but took Maye or Daniel's over him because that's what the talking heads think, then JJ goes onto to be a stud while the guy we drafted became a bust
I like the trade but think MHJ would be the Giants target. The Giants WR position was somehow worse than the Pats last year.
The current FO just extended Jones, they have to give him weapons and 1 more year. Plus landing a stud WR and sucking into Manning range might be their ultimate plan...
I think the price goes up because he is the Pats top option based on that info.
Makes sense, Kraft wants the Pats to make the playoffs this year and Daniel's is the most ready. Penix is probably the second most ready to play with a lower ceiling than Maye or JJ
The options are really fun. Doing simulated mock drafts have been a blast.
The Pats ultimately draft Maye at 3 but I would happy with a trade down or take BPA at 3 with a slight trade up for Penix
If they have them evenly ranked as franchise QBs, you don't get cute with it IMO and draft the the on you like best after the Commanders take their QB.
If the Charger or Giants call about #3 in hopes of jumping the Cardinals for MHJ then that could be a possible trade you would feel comfortable...
It all comes down to how the Pats view Maye/Daniel's. If they view on or both as Franchise QBs then they need to draft either one.
If they don't view them as Franchise QBs and they don't have an offer worth while then drafting a WR or OT they view as a possible HOF game changing type player...
That's if they have that kind of offer. If they aren't sold on Maye or Daniel's and the best offer they have is say the Vikings at 11 plus a 2nd rd pick then taking BPA makes the most sense.
All the talk from the Pats FO is their interest in trading down if they get the right kind of deal.
