Off topic - But Shula really did do nothing without Bill Arnsparger.
Shula, in the 60s & 70s, constantly had a top 5 Defense. But when Arnsparger left the Dolphins in 74-76 to be the Giants HC; the Defense went from Top 5 (practically every year) to being absolute trash within in two seasons...
I love Owenu, but it's just as much about getting rid of Vederian Lowe at RT, as it is having Owenu take over. Vederian Lowe has been the worst RT in the NFL this year. He's simply not fast enough to keep up with DEs when they try to turn the corner. It has been pathetic to watch. His poor play...
I really liked Minshew when he was in JAX. Quick decision maker who always kept his eyes down field and always had that sense of where his check down was without looking for it by moving his head; instead always resetting his feet. Polar opposite of Trevor Lawrence; who was/is a physically...
Um, this is a New England Patriots forum...I don't think anyone here has a "southern football bias," lol.
Also, yes, Trevor Lawrence is very one-dimensional QB. We saw the Chargers take away the short passing game, it worked just fine. Then they stopped, and Trevor dinked his way back into it.
As I said before, the Jaguars offense reminds me of the 2018 Rams because they are laughably one-dimensional; albeit in different ways. The point being...just take away what they do best.
Also, why would an "SEC hater" have a issue an issue with Lawrence? He didn't play in the SEC, lol. Maybe...
LOL, I'm sure you would've said the same thing about the 2018 LA Rams. That's was the most one-dimensional offense I've ever seen.
All it took was creating a 6-man-Dline will a Nickel-Safety to the weak side and the SAM to the strong side (i.e. Chung and Van Noy on the LOS). Fangio did it...
Really, the only dumber display of defense I can recall is how defenses across the league would play against the the 2017-18 Rams offense. They would play Nickel & just naively line up in a 4 man D-line. Which was laughable...because anyone who watched that Rams team knew that Cooper Kupp and...
Please stop. Tom Brady doesn't just go out a run the same few plays over and over any hope the D just plays soft coverage. That's was happened tonight.
When?
The Chargers played press coverage the entire 1st half. All those short passes didn't work. Then they just....stopped. All those short passes suddenly worked for Trevor.
Am I the only one who still has little respect for Trevor Lawrence as a legit QB? All he did was throw the ball short all night (hitch, shallow cross, bubble-screen) to a laughable degree. The only reason why it worked in the 2nd half was because the Chargers stopped playing aggressive tight...
