Schefter: Just based on the facts...Brady thinking/setting up to leave NE

Too business minded for either Tom or Bill. Whatever the decision is, it's based on legacies.

Schefter: Just based on the facts...Brady thinking/setting up to leave NE

So I've had some time to process this and I'm pretty positive I know what's going on. 1) Brady means to settle family business with a perfect season this year 2) Brady wants to prove he can win the Super Bowl on two different teams like Peyton, too. And that he isn't just a system quarterback...

Brown Goes Off, Takes Shots at Patriots Owner Robert Kraft on Twitter

Or, instead of slandering "today's men", you could, you know, deal with his personal issues. What you're doing right now is very repugnant.

Brown Goes Off, Takes Shots at Patriots Owner Robert Kraft on Twitter

"Toxic male" let's leave the post-modernist theory out of this. He's clearly got some mental health issues and the Patriots couldn't manage it anymore than anyone else could. We don't need to bring in social science to this.

Brown Goes Off, Takes Shots at Patriots Owner Robert Kraft on Twitter

I think it's safe to say AB was and is no Patriot. We're on to the Bills.

    This means WAR.....or it should

It's time for Kraft and Belichick to start leaking dirt they have on the rest of the league. As Curran said when talking with Florio tonight, the NFL emptied the bag. Time to get even. Each BB post-game presser this season should be filled with allusions to nuggets of dirt about the team and...

".....a league office drunk on power, overwhelmed by prejudice......"

That and I think Kraft realized he had less support from other owners than he was expecting. But suspending an innocent Brady is a red line in his mind where going rogue trumps not being "out" of the owners club.

Nobody here knows Kraft's side of it.

Quotes on and off the record from owners here: https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/05/19/robert-kraft-surrenders-battle-couldn-win/MOpqZnW4k8NhqaFpdMI4qO/story.html And more here...

Nobody here knows Kraft's side of it.

In my view, the only legitimate reason for Kraft to back down (not saying this is the case, but it's basically the only possibility where he isn't a complete coward) is if other large market owners (or a majority of owners) were threatening to blow up the CBA if the Patriots continued to...

    Kraft's response

Thankfully he has financial incentive to act. It can't be lost on him that the fanbase is in an uproar over this.

Mike Freeman: Owner says Kraft/Goodell relationship dead and owners are nervous what Kraft will do

Frankly - and sorry for bringing it up - but Mara should side with Kraft because diminishing the Patriots as "cheaters" diminishes the Giants.

    Kraft's response

Whichever owner that is cannot be a friend of Kraft's. And is likely a bitter rival to support such an out of step penalty.
  13. DaedalusX

    Kraft's response

I would add: either Goodell's ego has grown entirely out of step with reality, or he has at least one major owner backing him and rallying support behind the scenes.
  14. DaedalusX

    Kraft's response

The pacing of things suggests there was a lot of backroom chatter the past few months. I'm guessing Kraft told the league office he would make a peace offering in the form of Jastremski and McNally being suspended, as well as the earlier, more contrite statement "accepting punishment". But I'm...

The Axe has fallen. Brady has been suspended for four games

Did you watch the video? Curran specifically says that when Belichick leaves, it will be because of Park Avenue, not because he's too old for the game or doesn't love it anymore.

The Axe has fallen. Brady has been suspended for four games

Anyone else think Curran might be hinting that Belichick could retire in protest over this? http://www.csnne.com/new-england-patriots/curran-patriots-penalties-nfl-went-after-them-hard

The Axe has fallen. Brady has been suspended for four games

Yee's statement pretty much confirms that Brady intends to go nuclear over this. And given how much of a disruption this will be for Belichick this season, I hope he opens up his doomsday journal, too.

Are you done with the NFL? (Immediate reaction)

There's little point in getting invested in a team in a league where the league sets rules or judgements specifically because it doesn't like it your team's success.
  19. DaedalusX

The Axe has fallen. Brady has been suspended for four games

The severity of the punishment to the organization makes me think this is the NFL attempting to get back at Kraft for demanding an apology if nothing was found AND because it's anticipating Brady / Yee going to war over his suspension. The NFL probably gave them over the weekend to agree to a...
