Take away a CG record for PI penalties and Manning goes down as one of the biggest chokers in history and never sheds the image he had coming out of college as a choker. UF had his #.
Granted Brady & Co win #4 against RexG and the Pretenders, so who knows if 07 ever happens, but who cares?!
I...
1. 49ers: Alex Smith is only going to get 2-3 year offer, why not sink that into a performance based contract for Peyton? Money left to bring in Wayne, or another WR. Great TE, RB, stellar defense, good return game. The only con might be that San Fran is not a dome? Instant Sb contenders...
For me:
2005: loss to Denver sucked, but the Pats played uncharacteristically bad football.
2006: loss to Indy in AFCCG was almost unbearable. We had terrible receivers, by and large, yet we should have owned the Colts in that game. The officiating was horrendous, and it wasn't even debatable...
I feel the offense was inconsistent. The 2 drives in the middle that led to the 17-9 lead were incredible, but the subsequent, unsustained, short drives that failed to salt the game away combined with the heartbreaking drive that ended near midfield when they needed to eat up more time and/or...
Do you guys think we retain Branch at a bargain price? Who's going to want to give home much $$, given his stats in Seattle when he was younger and healthier? What's the $# to offer him as a #3 or 4 WR, and is he not worth it in that role simply for his chemistry with Brady?
From my...
Didn't the unofficial game that replaced Superbowl42 start with, for lack of the accurate terminology, double fake handoff and Brady had to unload it quick before getting hit?
I see us going Heavy on the right with Vollmer, Solder, and Gronk, BJGE in the backfield, Brady under center...
Apparently 9-7 record, with a very good defense, better wrs, arguably better rbs, a lower completion %, less yards, and 29tds vs 19ints...
Is better than...
13-3 record, with a much maligned, statistically awful defense, slow wrs (much better te's though), higher completion %, more yards, and...
Stupid play. Deep heave to a guy not known for hands against a secondary that was all over it. Seriously, has Slater ever made a leaping grab between defenders?
Boneheaded play by TfB.
Re: ****** Official unofficial Patriots/Steelers postgame thread ******
”Our defense is too complex, we need smart guys to run this ult
ra complex scheme.”
Makes sense because, 'dont get too close too receivers', 'don't forget to smell the roses on your way to the quarterback', and 'run around...
From my comfy, inexperienced, out of the loop perspective:
1. There's no 'genius' in these vanilla schemes. I always read guys talk about how bb was holding back at various points, and would unveil his complex, game changing scheme in the big moments.
That appears to be crap.
2. Idk what all...
How can you build an offense based on your qb staying upright and picking apart defenses, but you construct a defense that can't get close enough to a qb to give him a cold, and your secondary seems to lack play making ability?
