NFL officiating is horrendous. The game is extremely fast, and you have 55 and 60 year old men, part timers whose vison and reflexes have declined, trying to keep up. As a 50 something, I know I don't see (or run) as good as I used to. The officials don't either.
I don't see any coach doing any better with absolutely awful players than Tony Sparano. Look at the players Miami has had at the talent positions - quarterbacks named Chad, running backs with bad knees or bad habits, scared wide receivers, etc.
The real travesty here is that not one Patriot appeared to make a move towards the guy who laid Welker out with a dirty and dangerous hit. Showed a total lack of guts and team spirit. Sometimes you need to take the 15 yards, or even an ejection. I was ashamed to be a Patriots fan at that moment.
Please don't let the Jets win. I live in the New York area, and for the next two weeks we will all be bombarded with new nicknames for these clowns. Anyone who is old enough to remember "The New York Sack Exchange" cannot in good conscience support the Jets.
I would love to see it. Throw deep to Moss a few times to loosen up the D, but concentrate on Taylor, Morris, and Maroney running, and a bunch of screens and draws. Tire out that geezer Ray Lewis.
Re: Your favorite Patriots play of the decade - One on Offense, Defense, Special Team
Great question, and to do it justice I'd probably have to go back and watch some DVDs - there have been so many great ones. But without doing that
Offense: Brady to Moss 50th
Defense: Ty Law Interception...
The Colts also have the distinction of not having the guts to go for an undefeated season, and actually *****ing out in front of their home crowd and not waiting for a road game against a weak team to rest their starters (even though a bye was already secured)
