I'm not sure why there is a need for a down the field type receiver. Brady works best close to intermediate. Surrounding him with receivers who match up to that skillset makes the most sense to me.

He's not a downfield receiver, he's an intermediate guy.

We're not going to get OBJ level of Wide Reciever in the 4th round.

It's always going to be either high potenial players with red flags or JAGs.

Be happy we took Mitchell. He could be a keeper. Or he could be a bust. That's the gamble.

So I didn't really follow the draft class this year - just listened to some of the chatter here. I heard this name constantly. How did he last so long?

Not sure. Interviews maybe.

Mitchell was having knee issues at the Sr Bowl.

Knee looked fine here

Could be this

10. HASSAN RIDGEWAY, Texas (6-3 ½, 305, 5.01, 2-3): Fourth-year junior, two-year starter. “He’s a very talented athlete who is slowly on the come,” one scout said in early April. “He’ll be a fast riser in the next three weeks. He can play nose, 3- and 5-technique. He’s going second round.” Playing in a one-gap scheme, finished with 92 tackles (18 ½ for loss) and 9 ½ sacks. “Doesn’t play hard all the time,” said another scout. “Has early second-round talent but he’s not as good as Malcom Brown. He’s not as tough as Malcom Brown.” From Mansfield, Texas. “There’s a guy that’s overrated,” a third scout said. “I don’t know why he was at the combine. I definitely don’t like (University of) Texas football players. He’s weak, doesn’t get off blocks, not a glass-eater, not a pass rusher. I don’t know what anybody saw in this guy.”

I was commenting on those who suggested we needed to get a down the field type of receiver. I guess I could have written it better.

Anyways the first RB to come off the board since I think Prosise

Tyler Ervin - Texans

Vikings- Willie Beavers

I like the WR pick, but the Patriots may come to regret waiting this long without drafting a running back... so far, they've passed over some serious talent

Colts admittedly aren't drafting so bad his year. Probably won't help them much for next year though outside of Kelly.

And also if you guys think our RB situations bad All Indy has is a 33 year old Frank Gore for RB's right now.

I really hated to see them draft Ryan Kelly, he could be a real difference maker with them, a leader for their OL. I've got used to counting on idiotic decisions by Grigson, I can't figure out how he stumbled onto such a good draft move. o_O

not surprised belichick has taken 2 SEC players so far.

Bengals- Billings

Steelers- Jerald Hawkins

Seems that we as fans are a helluva lot more excited about drafting a RB than the 100s of NFL scouts and personnel guys are.
