Schefter on Lewis: No swelling yet (good) but ACL loose (bad)

No, they don't. Attributing false causation to apparent patterns is one of the biggest problems with the human mind.

Fair enough. But leave no doubt the Patriots take risks on players who other teams pass on and if you have 6-10 players on your roster with this past, don't whine how we have such bad luck when they get hurt (which I see on many threads) Maybe with one player the dots connected are a coincidence, but when you add Gronk, Amendola, Easley, Stork, Cannon and a few others you have a better chance of having a large IR team.

BTW I agree with the risk/reward they take, but was not shocked at this injury.

lewis so unlucky, while scumbag big ben dodges another bullet.

Maybe everything you think is wrong?

Preparing for the worst...hoping for the best

as exciting as lewis is, its pretty obvious you'll always need a plan B ready to go behind him

As far as Lewis goes, this injury was of the freaky sort. He got clipped on the heel by a guy trying to trip him up and that caused an awkward step that made his knee buckle out. You rarely see this kind of thing in the NFL. People are rarely in position to trip people up from behind.

So I'd hold off on calling this a pattern or anything other than freaky.

The thing that gets me is I still have yet to see any picture or angle where I cringe and go, yup, that's a season ender. When Gronk was injured I could barely watch the replays because you just knew. I still can't wrap my head around this one.

I have to admit that I thought he was done immediately after seeing the play. I'll be glad to be wrong. :)

Well, its certainly trending that way. What worried me about the play was not where the injury happened because I'm still honestly not sure, but the reaction afterward. The way he went down, didn't move and the reaction of everyone else. But there was no hit or cut he made where his knee looked grotesque and I could see where it happened.

I guess that's even worse.

Anything about Vollmer?

Hopefully the injury is not the IR-variety, but I am preparing myself not to see Lewis playing for a while. However, I am confident that the rotation of Bolden, White and Blount can get it done albeit not as flashy.

It looked like the Wes Welker Houston acl to me. Wasn't as bad obviously but the form was similar.

Lewis made this offense better. If dobson hadn't been such a dissapointment then i wouldn't feel as bad about the offense.

After the kids went to bed I must have watched the Lewis injury 10 times. (I know.....pathetic). I was just trying to find that glimmer of hope to make me feel better I guess.

It didn't seem as bad as Welker's IMO. WWs just collapsed. Lewis' just bent really weird.

With that said, Lewis' didn't look great. He could easily have a torn ACL. I have no idea.

Hoping for the best.

Please don't turn this into another Dobson thread. The guy sucks, but Lafell has been everything we hoped Droppy would be. He isn't holding this offense back, just taking up a roster spot.

If you feel bad about this offense, you have some high ass standards
