Where is the Love?

Actually thought he went to Carolina after us, not Jacksonville. I mix those franchises up for no good reason.

The Jags and Panthers were expansion teams the same year. Probably it. :)

Yeah, that's probably it. No matter how many good, including Super Bowl seasons Carolina might have and futile Jacksonvilles existence might be, my brain still confuses them and I live in N Carolina! [not originally, of course...Bostonian in exile:D].

In my defense, nobody around here cares about the Panthers, it's all Duke vs UNC Chapel Hill BBall.

Ah Kyle Love..

He ended up far exceeding expectations, but he got too big of a role for himself here for a while.

He was a very nice rotational player, but was mediocre when he became a regular starter for us. I think he's at where he belongs when he's the 3rd-4th DT on a roster.

Gave his all, though. Two year starter, every game. Of course it wasn't optimal, but it allowed us to pay and draft other positions and still stay in contention.

In a salary cap game, being mediocre, but working hard allows the team to improve elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with being a JAG. Most of the NFL is made up of JAG's. Being a JAG in the NFL means you are one of the best football players in the world. You are a true 1 percenter, or at worst a 2 percenter. Sometime I get a little pissed when people arbitrarily dismiss players as "merely" being JAGS. That really diminishes how really good these guys are as football players and athletes. I would have given my left nut to have been good enough to have been a JAG in the NFL.

Kyle Love did a nice job here, I'm happy he's still in the league. He's try hard overachiever who "DID HIS JOB", and because of it he got to play in a superbowl. If Love were here he'd likely be in the mix for one of the last DT jobs, but we've upgraded the DT position to the point he'd be unlikely to be fighting for a starter's role. In essence his role was take over by Silva Siliga, and Silva improved on it.

Plays for the Cavs I believe, until Kelly Olynyk took him out that is.

Yeah, I've always been bemused by the Parallels:

01 ~ Twin Expansion Teams.
02 ~ Both named after Cats.
03 ~ Both made it to the Final Four in their 2nd Year in the League!!

Guy coming back from type 2 diabetes, good for him. Playing in the NFL under those circumstances is terrific.

Ah, yes, I remember.

Always liked the Love God. I remember him showing up in pre-season and playing with maximum effort. Comes from a military family (father is a colonel, if I recall). That said, is going on playing at NFL lineman weight the best idea for someone with diabetes? In any case, I wish him well.

Good analysis. Also having Wilfork in those seasons also helped a great deal in terms of being able to be flexible with who we had behind him.

I think type 2 diabetes is very controllable by exercise and diet. Type one is where you need to take shots. You can be heavy and healthy, it just takes some planning.
