I think in a very round about way, this is all about BB and an effort to him they discredit Kraft and Brady ..

BB has been a thorn in their side for years, and him winning as much as he does must make them crazy..

Kensil was in Jets operations when BB abandoned that sinking ship..

Yep. Kensil was with the NFL in 2007.

Not sure what his rolein spygate was but its safe to say be wasn't in BBs corner.

I'm not surprised Mort backed out but the more I think about his email and the reason he gave for not doing it, the more respect I lose for him. He's been AWOL since January and the first time he agrees to appear on Boston radio, he thinks they aren't going to ask him about his "source?" Someone got to Mort and told or ordered him not to do the interview. Has to be.

"Let this be a lesson as to why the continual use of “sources” and “league sources” can be a dangerous precedent in sports reporting. It could be that the NFL used Mortensen and viewed him as a potential mouthpiece to push their false agenda. It could be that someone (or multiple people) Mortensen betrayed trust that was built up over years of reporting. Both truths would be very troubling.

Mortensen and ESPN definitely need to take responsibility for his errant report that was such an integral part of the DeflateGate story. In the end, it was he who published false information and he who has to take the blame. Refusing to address it is only going to negatively impact Mortensen from here on out. But at a deeper level, given the shadiness of the league office and their questionable behavior through one saga after another, NFL fans have to seriously question what they can and can’t trust now that comes from these nefarious “league sources.”

Would really love to believe BB is "one strike away" from the doomsday launch sequence, but if that were true (and if said doomsday documents exist), you would wonder how bad things have to get for him to go for it.

Glad to see Patriots not ending the rhetoric. This recently released correspondence is mind boggling.

All kidding aside about D&C but both John Dennis and Gerry Callahan are well-connected dudes.

Could be Brady (via Yee). Could be Jonathan. Could be BB. Could be Bob.

This seems to be unraveling for the NFL and I love it because Kensil has many years of hatred for the Patriots and that should some how make this whole investigation a huge cover up and lie !!!

This is the Patriots releasing information, not either of the parties involved in litigation.

Patriots tired of playing games. They were good soldier - trying to get League to stop leaks - got screwed.

They should have known to be weary of BS League office.
