Context of "Deflate and give somebody that jkt." synchronized to Packers game

Probably Mcnally wanted JJ to know that he saw him on tv. However, it could just as easily be interpreted as a joke about their roles, potentially as deflators. "Just kill time" for Jkt doesn't work in context at all, "deflate and give someone that just kill time." If he said deflate and JKT In could see it, plus were dealing with Mcnally who I'm sure isn't up on all the texting acronyms.

Probably a very good thing he didn't respond. Not sure how JJ would know wtf JM was talking about hours later, but that's not relevant. Good stuff
Or he may have responded with something which Wells ignored and pats lawyer are holding up their sleeve.

The text reads: Deflate and give somebody that jkt

So they are suggesting this means give somebody that just kill time
Sorry was typing while you posted. didn't mean to get repetitious.

I guess that's what their saying, it didn't make sense to me either, but that's how they were spinning it on espn radio.

I had to shut the radio off, couldn't stand listening to it anymore, their is only 1 side of this whole thing being pushed out there and it's definitely not the patriots. I'll just have to come here to get my updates on what's going on with this :)

TextGate2:

"August 2015- After winning both appeals and having all punishments overturned, in a shocking turn of events that occured after ted wells was found to have been coached by the league for the entire duration of the investigation, the Patriots once again find themselves treading water in yet another controversy. Apparently during the appeals it became apparent that evidence used against them in the 'deflategate' investigation turned out to mean something completely different, but in uncovering it, the patriots turned out to be a different kind of cheaters, they were text messaging on the sideline. Roger Goodell having just been embarrassed again, decided this time. THIS TIME IS THE TIME, he puts the patriots down for good, and levied the most insane punishment yet, the patriots are banned from the NFL. from teh beginging of Goodells statement to the patriots 'This league was founded on integrity and the patriots have routinely tarnished the as 5 time repeat offenders(spygate, deflategate, being tricky by using 4 offensive linemen, making peyton manning feel bad) we have no choice but to ban them for text messaging on the sidelines during the games.'- although there was no actual evidence that someone on the sideline was texting, the simple fact remains, almost the entire team RECEIVED texts at some point during the game. Although the patriots attempted to defend themselves by stating that all of the cell phones remained in the locker room, there is little hope for the banishment to be overturned."

The "just kill time" interpretation is just plain stupid. At that precise time, Jastremski was seen on national TV walking around with a jacket turned around as he was looking to put it on a player. The meaning of "Give somebody that jkt" is as plain as day.

I'm not a twitter person, but someone should tweet the actual context of how that text was worded to Colin Cowherd, he's the one that was just making this into a thing.

Are you really surprised? If there's one thing I've learned from this nonsense, it's that 90% of people have no sense of reading comprehension.

Oh, that explains it. Cowherd is not too bright. :)

Why do we think McNally is a perfect typer? Doesn't this make the most sense:

deflate[d], and give someone that jacket

The packers had just scored the Pats were "deflated" because of that. It's a common usage. For christ sake it's the second usage of deflate in when you google it

de·flate
diˈflāt/
verb
  1. 1.
let air or gas out of (a tire, balloon, or similar object).
"he deflated one of the tires"
    synonyms: let down, flatten, void;
    puncture
    "he deflated the tires
  2. 2.
cause (someone) to suddenly lose confidence or feel less important.
"the news left him feeling utterly deflated"
And in Websters
Full Definition of DEFLATE
transitive verb
1 : to release air or gas from <deflate a tire>
2 : to reduce in size, importance, or effectiveness <deflate his ego with cutting remarks>

Also the way he spoke to Jastremski, it seems he fancied himself a tough guy and so . . . why is it surprising that he might consider himself the "deflator" or one who cuts others down with such witticisms as "dorito dink.

no, follow the gourd

this is getting to be like biblical interpretation
the thing is, we really don't need to decipher any of these messages
what they need to do is show us some kind of pattern of incrimination, not some single isolated text out of context from may, or whenever

Every Profession, job, sport has Special words. For Instance I am a Veterinarian, my friend calls me the Butcher" . Imagine I would be involved in as person of interest in a murder and that was found on my phone.

I assume that they asked jaz and mac about deflator...I dont remember that their responses were written in report
Ditto me as a chiropractor otherwise known as "the back cracker"

>>> "Could it be that Bird saw his buddy looking overinflated on the sidelines and as a joke told him to deflate himself?" <<< http://www.patspulpit.com/2015/5/14/8609329/what-is-this-deflate-that-you-speak-of

Yeah, I'm sure that was it. I mean the use of the word "deflate" is used so often that way.
It isn't often used that way but in context it most certainly could not be related to taking air out of footballs.

The term deflate comes up in 2 texts, and if we can all agree pretty definitively if was not in reference to footballs in one instance than it establishes the word likely does not refer to footballs in the other instance.

Whatever the meaning, and however common it is generally is irrelevant. To J and M and had meaning, and was part of their use of language in reference to something other than footballs.

I'm sorry, but the NFL and everyone outside of PatsNation has decided that deflate and deflator means illegally deflating footballs. It's stupid, but it's also reality. to use the word deflate at the same time as the team was deflated by an end of the half touchdown does not sound surprising to me at all. And at that time, there was no reason to deflate footballs as the pats has scored themselves shortly before that.

I don't have any idea what was meant in this case but I'd bet the ranch that it had nothing to due with losing weight.

Why? What evidence do you have that it means anything else?

I now refer to a buddy of mine as 'dorito dink'
do you think it's because he eats doritos?
