I think Brady has a libel suit against the NFL for that Vincent letter.

They are saying definitiviely what they cannot begin to prove.

I'm serious about this: if Brady and the Patriots don't fight this, I will see it as an admission of guilt.

Vincent's letter makes the typical omission:

... you were (more likely than not) generally aware of the actions of the Patriots employees (that may have been, more likely than not) involved in the deflation of the footballs...

Wells was apparently 100% right in thinking that if he wrapped his conclusions in all sorts of weasel words like "may have" & "plausibly" and "more likely than not" that the lazy media, the lazy NFL, and the lazier public would omit all of the weasel words and distill his findings down to a yes/no verdict, regardless of the evidence (or lack thereof).

I LOVE football, right? I'm young though, 29, and I have a deep seated loyalty to this team but not quite a clannish type attachment. I have some long distance connections to soccer, where you live and die by a team.

I feel bad sometimes when I read about the other football. Corrupt organizations (FIFA? I guess we almost are joining them there), labor crises in 3rd world countries that soccer is directly responsible for that are truly morally reprehensible, racism, violence between fans, and others im forgetting off the cuff here. Football, baseball...they don't seem to carry the same burden on the conscience.

I don't have much faith in other people, government, for-profit organizations, and ****, my own industry (I work in an ER). I'm not saying I had all the faith of humanity in the NFL, but... does everything get f***ed up every time? Brady and the Pats were/are a great escape for me, and although its just a game, there is a lot of infrastructure around this "game" to the point where it would appear that it could maintain some integrity.

I'll still watch the damn games because really, what else will I do Sundays (if I'm off)? Barring any major white knight actions by anybody that matters, I won't spend a penny on the league or team, and probably won't represent them publicly much more than my gear supports.

I'd still love to shake Brady's hand, and get a beer with him or some of the other guys I always admired. Sorry to drop all that angst on the thread. My mom always helped me with understanding true life priorities, keeping grounded and all. I'll be cool after today.

Oh well.

absolutely devastating.

4 games maybe it gets lowered after appeal??? idk doesnt look like we make the playoffs.
If will be the ultimate FCK You tour. I know BB has it in him to get it done.

Those of you on this site who don't like me can now root for Roger Goodell. On the day that Brady is no longer a member of the Patriots, I will stop following NFL football, if the clown is still Ommissioner.

What the hell are you people getting on Kraft for? He just got fined a $1,000,000.

I'm one to believe that even if Kraft saved the franchise from moving to St-Louis, now is the time to start booing him every time he shows up. He always says that he's doing everything for the fans, well, if he's not able to fight this for the fans, then his words were just empty of any meanings.
This. A thousand times, this.

And for those sparring over whether Kraft is or is not the worst owner, I've been a Pats fan since Lou Saban was coaching the team. There were worse owners, yes, but there has never been a more disappointing one.

He's partially responsible for keeping an incompetent at the head of the NFL.

The incompetent is a voice box and Teflon for collective ownership. The incompetence is good for business.

Your two competitors, Brady vs. Goodell...

Brady is a fierce competitor, who fought tooth and nail for everything he earned. He does not accept failure.

Goodell admitted to ratting out any members of his high school teams that had a drink on the weekend. And is thoroughly incompetent.

Money is not a limiting factor in either case.

Who do you think wins in the end?
I really beleive brady wins, that report is an absolute joke, his lawyers will rip it to shreds.

He will raise tkt prices and jack other stuff in merchandise and make that up.

After getting over the initial shock of the severity of the punishments, I'm not too worried about this. Brady will get his opportunity to appeal and have this thrown out.

I'm of the opinion that DeflateGate is a ratings bonanza for the NFL. During NHL and NBA playoffs, the NFL is still the big topic in the world of sports. They allowed it to become what it became as a part of their PR strategy. Big bad Patriots vs the protector of the NFL.

It should be obvious to everyone that Brady should be fine if he and Don Yee challenge this in the courts. The real kicker for me is whether or not Kraft keeps taking a spineless approach or is in for the fight because Goodell just sucker punched him for something the NFL couldn't prove.

Vincent's letter really doesnt say anything except the failure to cooperate and turn the phone over. In the arbitration who decides if it was cooperation enough ? Its an abstract ruling

Complete and utter faulking bullshiznit

I hope BB and TB run the score up on every team in the league when he's back.

If you think his incompetence has been good for business in the past couple of years, Ive got some bridges I'd like to talk to you about.
