2/18/2015: Schefter Blows Up ESPN's Earlier Story

Hmmm. Did Jim Quirk steal footballs, too?

Yep, that's a guy who uses an AOL email address.

Where can I find interview with Quirk on Weei website? Radio show or what?

I feel bad for him as he is so clueless about tech and the internet. Used a home # and an aol address from what I see. Every time I think the NFL could not have screwed up more, they do.

I just saw a video on YouTube of Jim Quirk taking down Nick Barnett. I wouldn't mess with that man's phone...

I'm honestly sitting here laughing at all this. The guy was stealing game balls. Like wtf is going on lmfao lmfaoooo

This movie keeps getting better and better.

I never thought I'd ever say this but this now rivals The Big Lebowski.

I love it. Now the officials feel like they've had their reputations tarnished. Join the club. Take it up with Rog...

This movie keeps getting better and better.
As far as I see it, the more absurd and ridiculous the better. Just shows how this spiraled out of control for no good reason. Now even if the Pats were somehow guilty (which I absolutely don't believe), the NFL still looks moronic.

NFLRA denies any officials were fired.
They forgot to deny that they sold gameballs, though.

Eh, it was just Schefter's wording. They already changed it to NFL employee.

Quick observations

  • Kensil is the leak. The initial leaks were in an effort to embarass the Patriots, but when the Patriots fought back, Kensil tried to strike back and it has destroyed the credibility of many reporters.
  • I wonder how the relationship between the media and their sources will go on from here.
  • How does Goodell still have this job? If he has lost Kraft as an ally, you can bet that he will be gone by the summer.
  • The NFL Network doesn't even want to touch this story and for good reason.
  • Schefter dropped a truth bomb on his own colleague. Schefter ain't about this life. I wonder if Schefter will be magically suspended next month for "personal reasons".
  • I still hate the Colts, and I feel they were a part of this, but have backed off because of the backlash.
  • For those thinking that it's about air, no. It's about a NFL employee (and associates) with a vendetta against a team and tried to frame them for something. What wre Kensil's credentials for this job?
  • Stealing footballs that are supposed to go to charity? Okay...
  • The Patriots are going to go into serious FU mode. It's possible that this team will cause chaos for the NFL in an effort to give Goodell and company the middle finger.
  • The fact that they haven't even interviewed Brady or Belichick makes it seem that the investigation is not leading towards the Patriots and leading towards the league.
  • There are no atheists in foxholes. See how quick the other players in this attempted frame up have left the NFL with it's pants down.
And finally, the NFLRA is expecting sympathy in the court of public opinion. Good luck with that one.
