Just me or did the ref completely miss the helmet to helmet hit by bennet on brady on his first quarter interception. He launched himself. Could have reversed the int and changed how the game played out....maybe route rather than a close game it turned out to be. Can someone post the images?

For once, I got to enjoy a game without the officials being a factor on who wins. It was so nice to watch a game and not look to see if a flag was thrown on every play. I saw no bias towards either team. Yes, there were times that a penalty could have been called but they let the players decide the outcome. There were plenty of times that players were looking towards the officials pleading for a penalty but the officials ignored them.

I just watched that play. The initial contact was the chest but his helmet did slide up and catch Tom in the face mask. He also left his feet and launched at him. That's a penalty if this were a regular season game.

I noticed in game, as I'm sure many others did

The refs for the most part kept the flags in their pockets...and the game was better for it

That's how every game should be reffed

He definitely launched himself.

Absolutely, but I'm still totally confused as to why the holding on Browner - the sole ticky tack penalty called - was added on to Wilson's run. Shouldn't that have been declined?

There were a lot of fouls not called. Edelmen's TD catch, should have been illegal hands to the face on Sherman.

I thought I was losing my mind since no one mentioned anything about this play. I saw the same thing you did. After the incorrect call "running into" instead of roughing the kicker and this I was crazily thinking the refs had it in for us. Just glad that the refs swallowed the whistles for both teams.

I thought the officiating was about as good as it could have been. They seemed to want to "let the players play."
The few misses were relatively evenly divided between the two teams:
The hit on Brady (which I had missed. Thanks)
The pass interference by Butler where he clearly trips the receiver (think it was Kearse)
The "Running into the kicker" that was clearly "roughing"
Not stopping play to have Julian evaluated for a concussion.

All in all, IMO, a wash with, arguably, a slight balance towards the Pats given the consequences of losing Edelman even for a few plays right before he caught the TD.
