Goodell press conference

I think godell is a true believer all right, in money, his Job pays him Lots of it and he wants to keep his job at all costs.

Reflex, where does the picture in your avatar come from? I'm guessing a movie but I haven't seen it if that's the case.

Thanx Galeb!

I think it's safe to say that Goodell has passed David Stern and Bud Silig on the "most incompetent commissioner of all time" list. This press conference will accomplish nothing outside of the ability to watch a man talk out of both sides of his mouth of however long the presser goes on for.

Stern, in essence, sacrificed the quality of the game (teamwork) and integrity of the game (best-effort honest refereeing) to promote the game on a stars-first basis. So I understand why people might hate him.

But that business choice made the game MUCH more popular worldwide. And it also led to a whole generation of white boys wanting to "Be like Mike". I think that sports have played a huge role in improving race relations in the US and probably other countries as well, and I think Stern is a serious contributor o that.

So Stern doesn't belong in the group with Selig (who has presided over the decline of the former national pastime) and Goodell (who is on target for the same "accomplishment").

Why didn't someone ask:

Why should we trust the NFL as they have been releasing snippets of information to select mediots in the middle of the night??? Can't you control your own message??

Because the potential questioners are from the media themselves.

All I know it's that IF they win the Super Bowl when Goodell Hands him the Lombardi I want Belichick to say

YOU MAD BRO?
Or-

"I got some balls for you to check."

I'm sorry but this is the closest i can find, i couldn't find the original. In the original they showed alex (me your humble narrator) nazi death camps.

Goodell's pursuit of the almighty dollar on behalf of his 31 employers has been as relentless as it has ruthless, with players safety treated as little more than by catch as the NFL trolls the world for dollars.

Goodell's latest bungling with the deflated balls has been both petty and vindictive. He’s been in charge of systematically leaking stories to his favored media darlings at ESPN, that have dragged one of the league’s premier franchises through the mud for the past 2 weeks. All the while hiding behind not being able to comment on an "ongoing investigation". The leaks are coming from the NFL head office and yet the man cannot comment on the very stories that have come about, based on his own office's leaks? When I hear the word integrity coming from Goodell, my immediate reaction is to just laugh. The man has no shame and what we have is a truly great game being run by a truly awful person.

Money over player health and safety. Money over ethics. Money over everything. Could the owners not humor us a little by finding someone at least a little more likable to implement their dirty work? Perhaps the owners recognize that Goodell's lack of a moral compass, and seeming affinity for treachery, are a rare find, worth the inevitable headaches his incompetence all but guarantees.

The media needs to bring some of this ugliness to light.

I'm not usually one to nitpick words during questions, especially when I haven't heard the audio... but I'm surprised no one has blasted him for this: "We, obviously as an organization, have gone through adversity. More importantly, it’s been adversity for me."

Boo hoo. Smacks of a me-first attitude.

So, from reading this thread, there can be only one explanation:

Rodger Goodell is a droog.
