Yesterday on ProFootballTalk I said I might tell players 2 fake injury versus Patriots substitutions. TOTALLY wrong on my part. I apologize!

Classic.
I'll give him credit for stepping up and apologizing. He also tweeted about LaFell and said he was wrong. I'm OK with that. Everyone's in hysteria mode and he got caught up in it. If only Aikman and Brunnell had enough class to step up and apologize for calling Tom a liar.

Everyone has a right to be wrong, not everyone has the guts enough to stand up and say "my bad". Plenty of other gutless gossip columnists masquarading as "journalists" to launch rockets at.

My apologies to the Patriots and to the officials. In looking at the still picture LaFell is off far enough to be considered in backfield

Well designed play by the Patriots. I do believe though these substitution rules will be examined by Competition Committee in the off season

Imagine the Flopgate frenzy that would have occurred had it become known that Belichick was coaching his players to fake injuries in order to stop new Seahawk plays.

While I normally do find Dungy to be annoyingly self-righteous, after the frenzied witchhunt of the past week, if he wants to back off of his criticisms and apologize for it then I'm going to take it at face value.

Don't make a stupid comment then you don't have to apologize for it.

No Tony, I don't accept your apology. You passively aggressively take your pot shots at the Patriots, get your message out there in the media then take the moral high ground in the interests of retaining your integrity.

GFY.

Why didn't he do all this before opening his mouth? Would have been simple enough to check the facts especially in that he has access to resources that most of us don't.

Tony Dungy:
Years as HC: 13
Playoff Record: 9--10
Conference Championships: 2
Super Bowls: 1
Trophies: 1

Bill Belichick:
Years as HC: 20
Playoff Record: 21-9
Conference Championships: 9
Super Bowls: 6
Trophies: 3 (so far)

Any questions?
Depending on who you ask, Belichick's success just means he cheated.

Let's take it a step further and ruin football. You need to wait 25 seconds to snap the ball so the defense isn't caught with their pants down. Chip Kelly, sorry, you won't have a job in the NFL anymore. Ugh, these idiots are insufferable.

Funny Kevin Costner called Aikman out for what he said....too bad it was actor instead of another nfl quarterback.

There is a reason he has 'dung' right in his name.

Not me. His apology is only because of all of the ridicule he has received due to his inane statement. Had others supported him, he would be doubling down on his stupid position. He said what he meant.

Cannot stand that creepy sore loser. **** the national NFL media. Plain and simple.

This guy again? Who cares?!:rolleyes::D

I'll accept Dungy's apology when he a) does it on BSPN (where the inane comment was made) and b) renounces the 2006 Super Bowl championship due to "mistakes made by the league" in the AFC Championship Game. Let's see if he truly changes his position.
