Pretty funny. The Ravens were doing all kinds of hand wringing about this little twist Bill slipped into the game. I love it when Belichick gets in the other team's head. Harbaugh just had a mental meltdown and it transferred immediately to his players. Another coach schooled by the Pats.

"The highlight comes from Julian Edelman, who, after a clip of Terrell Suggs complaining to officials about the legality of four down lineman, goes to the refs and says: "You guys are getting your money's worth out of those formations, huh?"

Yeah, Suggs was all "They illegal!"

They had NO idea. Totally unprepared.

That's why they needed so much help from the ref. Instead of just telling the Ravens that Vereen was ineligable he had to add "you don't have to cover him." It still didn't help. :)

Bill Vinovich's reaction to JE was very funny ! The other videos in that page, man.... goose bumps !!

This is our year, get it done guys !

They left off one of the best quotes from Suggs that I saw in another clip. He was talking to a couple of other players about how even though they were up, they had to keep playing. "Especially with this dude" was Suggs reply. You know a player is great when even their biggest enemies respect them.

Edelman rocks. Love how he's high-fiving all the musket men at the end.

I almost didn't read it after the glaring error in the very first sentence:

"lightly bending pre-existing rules in their favor"

To be 100% clear: They didn't bend, break, stretch, or skirt any rules whatsoever. Everything was 100% by-the-book and according to the rules, and should have been recognized by any coach or even player that matter. You are taught the rules of eligibility in high school. It is not that hard. As Jimmy Johnson said "I ran that play ever since back in Picayune High School"

But after the first line the article was entertaining.

You should exploit all of the opponents' weaknesses, including STUPIDITY

Oh man, it makes me smile to see Suggs writhing in agony at the Patriots beating them on plays like this. A lot of them on the Ravens are mouthy and ****y. It feels so good to see Bellichick shut them up once again.

It was a brilliant gameplan, and I think they have just that much more in store for the last 2 games of the year.

What makes this so great is that all the Ravens needed to do is check into some zone emergency play or simply call a TO once they saw a strange formation.

But someone upstairs in their booth or down at the sideline either fell asleep or was simply not paying enough attention.

All in all it was essentially a bluff by BB/McD. And we took their money with it.

I don't think they knew it was even an odd formation on the field until Harbaugh told them.

Suggs had no clue. He had to be informed there was no left tackle (or rather the LT was at G), which is even more hilarious because doesn't he primarily face off against the LT?

The BB defense speech was interesting that the team wasn't playing the D they had planned and it wasn't going well. Once they got back on plan, the Ravens started to punt a lot more.

That part really encouraged me about the defense going forward, because it indicated to me that the Ravens didn't suddenly discover some huge weakness in the Patriots gameplan. They just executed really well against a Pats D that was probably overthinking things after three weeks without a meaningful football game.

too bad the ref didn't say
"No Suggs, it's they're illegal, they're illegal"
like the goalie in SLAPSHOT, ' who own da team?.....' it's own's own's.

Suggs, what a specimen,

Once again Belichick just displays his total knowledge of the rulebook, and how to use it to your advantage.

Thanks for the link.
I Lol'd at Suggs on the bench after the Edelman to Amendola TD

Suggs: " Oh my God, Now Offence gotta go save our ass again!"

At least he was honest.

Yes, I was surprised Suggs seemed like a focused leader and not an obnoxious tool like he comes acrcoss in interviews. Weird.

Suggs is the guy that you love to hate but wish he played for you, kinda like Suh and a few others. Great players and probably underrated leaders, but you just can't stand them on the other sideline.

He's definitely a very smart football player or he wouldn't be where he is today, but man does he come across the wrong way playing for Baltimore.
