While many of us have made fun of Brandon McManus' rocky introduction to the NFL, it's worth pointing out that his record at this point (8/12) is not really worse than Stephen Gostkowski's start back in 2006.
As a rookie, Gostkowski had one of his first eight kicks blocked, and missed two others; two of those three misses came on <40-yard kicks.
It's fortunate that Belichick took the long view, and didn't cut Gostkowski, as at least a couple of people on this board were clamoring for.
Of course, not that we realy have the Donkeys' best interests at heart, but it does raise an interesting question: if you were Elway, do you give McManus time to find his footing, so to speak, or do you just give up on him now?
