Buffalo opted to defend him without a spy. At Bowling Green, the responsibility fell on Haneline, a film junkie who typically stayed in the coaches’ office until 11 p.m., studying the upcoming opponent. Not during Edelman week, though.

During Edelman week, Haneline got his sleep. He even got a massage. He knew it would be more about endurance and physical condition than game-planning. He knew it the Sunday before Halloween, when the Falcons had put the Northern Illinois game behind them, and when he and his teammates popped in the film of Kent State: “We all just said, ‘Oh God…here we go again.”

I think this speaks to mini-tron's football IQ and toughness to make a play

Some context for the article.

Plays start at 1:11

I'd love to see him start on an end-around, stop, and throw a deep pass. Sure he doesn't have an NFL QB's arm, but we run him on reverses enough that the D would sell out to the run for sure, and Tyms, Dobson, or even Amendola (!) would easily take it to the house

One would hope that possibility softens the defense on some of his rushing plays.

Want to see a play call with him throwing a pass or 2. That would be interesting and I think New England would opt to do it in the more important games and when a defense least expects it if they expect it at all.

I'm calling it. Tonight, JE on a fake reverse, pass to Revis, TD!

We have to save that for a crucial down/time during a playoff game -- preferable this year's superbowl to go up by 14 (since we'd already be up by 7)

I'm trying to decide if this would be more or less humiliating for the Jets than a Brady-to-Revis TD.

I'm inclined to say more, because the trick play working on you is inherently embarrassing, and when you add on Revis catching it and little Minitron throwing it, seems like the more humiliating choice. But, Brady-to-Revis feels like the ultimate F-U-Jets move.

I hope they can do both. All of my fantasies would be fulfilled.

i've said this before, but JE has 3 or 4 specific moves that nobody else in the NFL has.

Serious question: what's one of those moves?
I don't know what they'd be called--and I can't re-watch the video right now-- but in part 2 of the KSU highlights, there were a couple of them between like 1:00 and 2:00.

on further thought, there is one I can explain: that backwards jump/dive with the ball outstretched...
