"there but for the grace of god go I"

wow...such sad news. RIP Sam. You affected so many lives in a positive way.

Win it for him, boys.

Sad news, indeed.

Having watched a few of the stories and interviews, this kid had rare maturity and optimism, and was a brave soldier in dealing with an incredibly difficult situation. RIP.

Rest in peace Sam....

This one is for Sam!!!

RIP Sam - very brave young man, and thank you for being a Pats fan all these years- this one tonight is for you buddy.

RIP Sam Berns and Prayers for his family. Classy move by Kraft to come through for Sam and his family.

I picture Sam and Myra Kraft cheering their hearts out up in heaven. :)

From the big luxury box in sky, rest in peace Sam. So heartbreaking. What a great young man.

RIP Sam. Hopefully, the Pats will hoist a Lombardi toward you this year.

Ugh. I don't cry much, few times a decade at most, but this has me close. What a sad story. I really feel for his parents who basically had a death sentence on their child for his entire life.

At the same time, what an inspiration...

I feel so bad for his family to lose there boy. rip sam. god bless.

Thank You Sam for sharing yourself ... You live to eternity in the loving heavy hearts of many.

I went to grade school/1st grade with a little girl who I believe had the same type of disease or something similar. My heart ached for her then, and my heart aches for this little boy now, especially after hearing of this terribly unfortunate news.

For those who may be interested:

"Life according to Sam" is the documentary/movie that was made by HBO, and it is currently listed in their "on demand" section for those who subscribe to the channel.

I have not yet seen it, but will be watching within the next day or so. It was played at the Sundance Film Festival, and is supposed to be very good.

In the grand scheme of things, I am sure they would rather have had Sam be a healthy, normal boy who had never heard of progeria.

On the other hand, thanks to their son, and their love for him, millions of people have learned about the disease, and we're a lot closer to actually beating it.

They had a moment of silence today in the stadium..nice gesture

Did anyone see Slater break the team down tonight? I am wondering if any mention was made, or the game ball dedicated to him?
