You could put a pretty good NLF team together with ex-UM Hurricanes, you just couldn't have any "ethics rules".

How about this for an "all-NFL, ex-Canes" lineup:

Defense:
DL: Warren Sapp, Jerome Brown, Vince Wilfork, Cortez Kennedy, Russell Maryland
LB: Ray Lewis, Michael Barrow, Jessie Armstead, Jonathon Vilma, Dan Morgan, Nate Webster
DB: Ed Reed, Bennie Blades, Philip Buchanon, Sean Taylor, Tremain Mack, Mike Rumph, Ryan McNeil, Duane Starks,

Offense:
QB: Jim Kelly, Steve Walsh, Bernie Kosar, Ken Dorsey, Vinny Interceptaverde
RB: Edgerrin James, Willis McGahee, OJ Anderson, Clinton Portis, Najeh Davenport
WR: Michael Irvin, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Santana Moss, Brian Blades, Randall Hill, Lamar Thomas
TE: Jeremy Shockey, Bubba Franks, Kellen Winslow, Jr.
OL: Leon Searcy, Bryant McKinnie, Eric Winston, Richard Mercier, Joaquin Gonzalez, Vernon Carey, Carlos Joseph, Don Bailey

Special Teams:
P: Jeff Feagles
K: Carlos Huerta

How 'bout a Prison All-UM team?

The Patriots would beat the snot out of them.

Seriously, if you want to use a school's all-time roster, I'm sure one could put up a list that's at least as impressive from Ohio St, USC, Texas, Michigan, Penn St, Georgia, even schools that are less prominent now like Syracuse.

That's pretty funny she-ite, heat!

"Brian Blades - retired, possibly in jail!"

Brian and Bennie are living comfortably in their hometown of PLantation, FL selling drugs and running hoes in LIberty City!

But seriously, you never heard of Randall "Thrill" Hill and Lamar "Chicken Legs" Thomas?

Vernon Carey starts for the Fish now!

And Don Bailey is famous for his carpet stores here in SoFla, if nothing else!

LOL!

Didn't one of the Blades' do some hard time a few years back?
Yes I recall Hill and Thomas, just wouldn't think to include them on a team. Here, I worked a very quick Syracuse one to compare. I'm sure there's a few "Who?" in here too, but quite a few Hall of Famers:

QB Donovan McNabb
RB Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, Floyd Little, Jim Nance, Joe Morris, Dee Brown, James Mungro
FB Larry Csonka, Daryl Johnston, Rob Konrad, Kyle Johnson
WR Marvin Harrison, Art Monk, Kevin Johnson, Rob Moore, Qadry Ismail,
TE John Mackey
OL Jim Ringo, John Flannery, Dave Wohlabaugh, Kevin Sampson, Joe Alexander, Roger Davis, Adam Terry, Quinn Ojinnaka

DL Dwight Freeney, Tim Green, Rob Burnett, Paul Frase
LB Keith Bulluck, Kevin Mitchell, Morlon Greenwood, Rich Scanlon, Antwaun Ponds
CB Will Allen, Kevin Abrams, Dwayne Joseph
S Tebucky Jones, Donovan Darius, Anthony Smith

K Gary Anderson, Olido Mare
P Pat O'Neill
ST David Tyree

How 'bout an all FSU team.

QB: Brad Johnson, Chris Weinke
RB: Warrick Dunn, Greg Jones, Travis Minor
WR: Fred Biletnikoff, Anquan Bouldin, Javon Walker, Laverneus Coles
OL: Walter Jones, Alex Barron, Montrae Holland, Jeff Mitchell

DL: Greg Spires, Corey Simon, Darnell Dockett, Broderick Bunkley
LB: Derrick Brooks, Peter Boulware, Sam Cowart, Ernie Sims, Tommy Polley
DB: Deion Sanders, Michael Boulware, Samari Rolle, Chris Hope, Dexter Jackson, Terrell Buckley

K: Janikowski (Yes, FSU has had a decent kicker)
KR/PR: Deion Sanders

And For Fun (All these people actually went to FSU):
Owner: Burt Reynolds
Head Coach: Mack Brown
Announcer: Lee Corso
Enforcer: Ron Simmons (AKA Farooq from WWE)
Trainer: Richard Simmons

Pretty crappy list actually, lots of busts, unprovens, and mediocre guys on there.

Three of us went nuts on this with only CURRENT NFL players.

Our goal was to find which of the 50 state's universities made up the sickest NFL squad.

Now, I don't have all the results... but let's just say that the All-Michigan Colleges team might have been even better than the All-Florida or All-Cali Colleges team. It was arguable.

And, no, this research was definetly NOT done during the work day, why do you ask ? ; )

That's funny you said that, because as this thread was developing, I was thinking about major conferences against each other...

All-time All- Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Pac10, Big East, SWC and independents.

And don't forget that for a LONG time the independents included the likes of Miami, Notre Dame, FSU, Penn State & Boston College...

Lots of great players just from those 5 right there...

You didn't even include the best WR to play for Miami, Eddie Brown. I think he's the only Miami player I've ever liked even just a little bit (with the exception of our own Vinny Wilf, of course).

Searcy has also been retired since 2002.

What have Gonzalez, Dorsey, or Webster done in the NFL? Huerta?

You put Najah Davenport on there who hasn't started anywhere yet not even mention Frank Gore, who while injury prone at The U has been a solid starter both late last year and early this year for the 49ers? I would rather have Gore all day than somebody who is more famous for using a closet as a bathroom than his football resume.

After some quick checking, the Tennessee Volunteers may have the best team of current NFLers. They're the only one's that I was able to field a complete lineup with with minimal position change (Guard to Tackle):

QB Payton Manning,
RB Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry, Shawn Bryson, Cedric Houston
WR Donte Stallworth, Eric Parker, Peerless Price, Cedric Wilson, Kelley Washington
TE Jason Witten, David Martin
C Trey Teague
G Cosey Coleman, Anthony Herrerra
T Chad Clifton, Fred Weary

DE Leonard Little, Shaun Ellis
DT Albert Haynesworth, John Henderson, Darwin Walker, Rashad Moore
LB Al Wilson, Kevin Burnett, Omar Gaither, Parys Haralson
CB Jason Allen, Jabari Greer
S Rashad Baker, Deon Grant, Gibril Wilson

P/K Dustin Colquitt

Actually, If I make Winston a guard, Miami also has a complete team:

QB Ken Dorsey
RB Edgerrin James, Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, Willis McGahee
FB Najeh Davenport
WR Santana Moss, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne
TE Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow, Bubba Franks
C Chris Myers
G Vernon Carey, Eric Winston
T Bryan McKinnie, Rashad Butler

DE Kenard Lang, Jerome McDougle
DT Warren Sapp, William Joseph, Vince Wilfork, Damione Lewis
LB Ray Lewis, Jonathan Vilma, DJ Williams, Dan Morgan, Roger McIntosh
CB Antrel Rolle, Phillip Buchanon, Kelly Jennings
S Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Mike Rumph

K/P Jeff Feagles
KR Roscoe Parrish, Devin Hester
