Not counting what Gonzo might turn into, it just gets worse for BB. A lot of bad first rounders since Chandler/Hightower and I used to think he was good with round 1 (Seymor, Warren, Wilfork, McCourtey, Mankins, Mayo). Then past 2013:

I'd like to know where Judon's heart is at the moment. I was under the impression that a lot of his excitement for the team was to play for Belichick's program. (I don't know if this is true, just seemed like it to me from watching TV, hearing him talk). And it's not like the team has done much...
Not as monumental as most of OP's list, but what happens in 2019 if Antonio Brown keeps his cool and Bill drafts Deebo or Metcalf or AJ Brown over N'keal Harry? Probably something good. And maybe Brady reconsiders leaving.
If it was the year 2000 and you told me everything that was going to happen with the Patriots until 2024, including all the bad stuff, Brady leaving because he had enough, BB getting fired because he couldn't change and his old approach wore out, exactly as it happened, I'd excitedly sign up for...

So basically everything Mayo has learned about football and coaching since he was in college came from Bill Belichick.
Which used to be high praise. That's what made Mangini and Crennel and McDaniels and Judge and Patricia and Flores attractive head coaching hires. Because the other teams...
I'm just making this up, but one could imagine a 72 year old just wanting reduced hours and responsibilities and being an NFL head coach is a full time job.
I like Vrable the man, coach and player just fine, but he just delivered essentially the same W/L record as Belichick did over the past two seasons. Had he been here during that time, half the board would be angrily shouting for him to be fired.
Can we win and still get a good pick?
I'd like to see them win out. As other posters have noted, teams like the Jets and Browns have been getting high picks for like 20 years and never found their guy. I'd rather enjoy the games now before I get old and die.
(Please note: my opinion has no...
