    Goal Line RB options

    I agree that another back would have been nice. Evans, as solid a worker and as good a special teamer as he is, could be replaced by a reserve guard (Hochstein) for the purposes of blocking thus freeing up a roster place for another back (Chris Brown type).

    Can Troy beat out Welker for any roles?

    My concern is that Troy, as much as we all love him, may not help the team so much with leadership and mentoring and other great intangibles, if that comes at the cost of two talented players who have both present and future value for the team. Do we lose a Garrett Mills and/or a Chad Jackson...

    I have a problem with the fact that Troy will not only bump someone off the final 53 but also off the final 45 actives. He will not be on the team in his last year as an inactive every week, so someone else will be on the 8 inactives. So, his making the team after TC will affect two other guys.

    If Brown makes the team, he takes two roster spots away because he will first beat out a guy like Caldwell or Washington or Gaffney all of whom have multi year potential compared to him and secondly, as he is unlikely to make the 53 man squad only to be inactive every week, he will bump someone...

    Sarcastic or not, you have some interesting ideas. I would go a bit further. Since we have no receiving game whatsoever and because we have no punting game, I propose that starting Sunday, we amass a collection of 10 blockers on offense, a combination of linemen and tight ends, and have one...
