Just a hunch, now that my mock is trash, but the Texans could really use a "move-TE." I'm guessing they take Amaro, with Mallett as QB.
The Pats can land a mid-round
QB, like Cornell's Jeff Mathews
with the pick Houston gives up.
Thanks. But it's not just the Patriots that take that approach. That started with Bill Walsh. The Patriot tree, including Ozzie Newsome, have continued it. There are going to be misses but the plan works.
I'm high on both prospects, so I'm good with that. Just not convinced they can or will slide back again. Then again, why move up when you likely have your pick of Attaochu, Dee Ford, Crichton or Demarcus Lawrence. I think they sit tight and make the pick.
So many draft prospects have been falling due to failed (or diluted) drug tests:
DT Timmy Jernigan
OLB Telvin Smith
LB Christian Jones
QB Zach Mettenberger
OL Seantrel Henderson
DT Anthony Johnson
Besides the obvious, "what were they thinking?!" Should the Pats eliminate them?
So many mid-to-late teams seem willing to move down: Titans,Cowboys, Ravens, Dolphins. I'm thinking there won't be enough trade interest with Pats to make it worthwhile. Better to move up or stay put.
Not exactly the same as the Solder situation because the Pats homework on him had already been done through familiarity with his position coach. That doesn't seem to be the case here. More from the Boston Herald...
Thanks, Ash. Appreciated. Injuries and QB play aside, I don't get why people are so down on Coleman. Maybe it's backlash against drafting Rutgers players. But it's pretty rare to come across somebody with
his great height with 4.4 - 4.5 speed, plus a tremendous catch radius. Throw in glowing...
In terms of strictly rushing the passer, agreed. Attaochu is the best, I think. Lawrence is right up there, too, but, if I'm mocking the Pats pick, his 3 team suspensions become a problem. Ealy, I'm not fond of, really. Crichton is possible, and he can kick inside to DT, which is why he'll...
Not to throw cold water on the whole CJF thing, because I've actually liked him for several years now, but, a little known fact about him is that his position coach at Wisconsin is Aaron Hernandez's brother. Not to say that he should be penalized for that, neither should, but the comfort level...
