New York Daily writer uncovers Peyton's true persona

This'll get buried like everything else. Peyton will sing in his next Nationwide ad "My people will bury this."

If indeed true, he's not the first spoiled athlete who thinks he can do anything to anyone. He won't be the last, either. It's a sad commentary on our society that we hold these guys in such high esteem that they can quite literally do anything they want and get away with it.
but. but, but. he's such a nice guy, he's so friendly, he cheered on butchers, he kissing the pizza guy, he drinks bud, he drives a buick, he eats chicken parm, he's just a normal guy
If PM does choose to publicly acknowledge it the narrative is simple.....

"I was just a dumb college kid. I shouldn't have done it...aw shucks."

99.9% of America will let this go.

Someone needs to get this info to a prominent feminist group. Nobody will care about this if it comes from patriots fans.
Nobody will probably care about them either but, worth a shot.

Most of America would let it go because of the narrative they been feed the last 18 years and because its PM

edited to add line below

Now if this was TFB, its a different story

The problem is sports writers for the most part, aren't hardcore journalists -- which is why we have only so many (really just the washington post) actually analyzing deflategate.

Most sports writers aren't that bright (they may have had average grades in school, went to an average college), and get paid big money to talk about entertainment -- not to go in-depth on a story.

And real journalists care more about politics/economics/crime/world-events rather than sports -- so they don't often dive into this area -- which is too bad, because this is a story of how power was used to railroad a respected professional.

Cris Carter must have provided some guidance here....

Chris Carter said that "the fall guy better know that he is the fall guy" which is much different than the University saying pick a black guy and blame it on him.

Jesus, that is just insane to think about.

College sports are ****ed up. Everyone involved should be canned if allegations are proven to be true and those people still work there.

peyton probably thought dr. "Naughwright" could be "naugh-ty"

Not sure about that.....this guy committed a sexual assault and someone is finally getting the actual court info out-not USA Today which had it 13 years ago.

I'm disgusted, but not surprised.

Look at what happened with Florida State and Winston.

There are probably 1000s of cases like this where the big time program covered up for a big time player that helped the university capture millions in TV and bowl game checks.

What are you not sure about?

1. Good article that ought to be widely read.
2. King is only just now learning of Manning's TN "mooning" incident? SMH.
3. Editors slipped a naughty word in.

Make this go away! ESPN, We have anything on Patriots for a distraction?

"But when the documents were sent to me on Tuesday, two days after the Super Bowl, it was immediately clear to me that had the world actually known what they contained, it’s doubtful that Peyton would have ever been the “swell, golly, gee-whiz” pitchman for Nationwide Insurance, DirecTV or Papa John’s Pizza. Certainly, evangelical op-eds calling him “squeaky clean” and positioning Peyton as the arbiter of all things good and decent in the world simply wouldn’t be the case."

Peytons-gonna-drop-his-pants

At the moment here in England the past 3 or 4 years historic sex crimes are being found on star entertainers from the 70's and 80's. They are being imprisoned. I guess its a bit like the Bill Cosby situation. Can Manning not be charged now?

He could have said that (and meant it) back in 1998 and been done with it. But he had to try and rewrite the incident to make it look like she overreacted to harmless horseplay and women don't belong in locker rooms, anyway.

There was an article on Daily Beast, I think, a couple of weeks ago drawing parallels between Manning's handling of "mooning" incident and the HGH allegations. Basically, if someone does something to negatively impact Manning's image, he is going to make their lives miserable.

Yeah they definitely missed a bad one lol

I read that whole article too and that part was particularly appalling. Seriously, wtf. "Hey, instead of us making you leave for doing nothing wrong and being a victim of a sex crime, will you just blame it all on a black guy instead? Then we can all just forget about it." Way to go, University of Tennessee.

The part of the article I found most interesting was the section where they laid out everything Manning said, and then detailed how it all of it was lies - how he had just fabricated everything and how like 20+ people had all testified that it was made up.

Not one person sided with Manning's version of events on any occasion.
