David Portnoy, the 38-year-old owner of Barstool Sports in Milton, demanded on Twitter that the governor apologize for wearing a “knockoff” Free Brady shirt produced by Boston Sports Co. of Everett.

Remarkably, Baker did tweet that he was sorry.

But Boston Sports owner Mahlon Williams fumed that Portnoy has been taking his ideas for years and reproducing them with less quality and artistic flair.

Portnoy lying that he created the Free Brady t-shirt design and getting pissy about it because he didn't get money from it. But his whole 'defending the wall' thing isn't about money, right?

No one is my "hero" but I think it's safe to say a lot more people realized how much the Brady got railroaded through barstools coverage of deflate gate than any thread on here. But go ahead pat each other on the back like you are a "true believer" or whatever you want to call yourselves and talk down on people who actually challenged the felger, mazz, Borges, kravitz, Doyles, hubbuchs of the world. You should probably go after curran, stradley, and Jenkins next because you know they only say stuff to generate clicks on their columns. Only here on patsfans.com are the true believers who are wholesome in their intentions. Every other opinion on the Internet is agenda driven by clicks, every single one. Right guys? Exactly. He's entertaining, but he's not 'defending' anything. He's giving his site and t-shirt shop more exposure. This is how he makes his money. If he cared about the fans at all, he wouldn't steal their designs and make money off them.

I'd rather see someone not stealing others designs to make money. And thousands as in hundreds of thousands. He's not making a small amount of money from barstool and merchandise.

Portnoy does not hide the fact that he's profiting from his page views. He expressed this to his readers this summer thanking them after spending a month vacation on Nantucket. He said he couldn't have done it or have his race horse(s) without the fans.

But I agree with tuckeverlasting, why can't it be both? Portnoy is a Massachusetts native and he attended the University of Michigan at the same time as Brady. He has been relentless in his pursuit of all of those out to get the Patriots and Brady. If you read the comments to any of his posts, a lot of his viewers/readers are not Patriot fans, but he keeps defending Brady and the Patriots anyways.

I don't care if he makes billions. That's not my issue. I think he's funny and have watched his videos and all that for a long while. I just don't look at him as a great defender of justice and I think his t-shirt thing isn't cool. It's funny that this thread is about him defending the wall, because the Game of Thrones shirt he sells was completely ripped off from a graphic another Patriots fan made. But beyond that, yes option 1 obviously. His attempts to interview both Sal and Kensil are exactly what Patriot fans want to see after this entire ordeal and I appreciate all that despite the other stuff.

Anyone who doubts the sincerity of Portnoy's quest to Free Brady and embarrass/out the NFL has their heads up their arsses. The guy is in 24/7 mode tossing haymakers left and right, confronting mediot haters on their own turf, taking the fight to the streets. Has any finger pointer here done even 1% of what Portnoy has accomplished? These four.... Portnoy, Curran, the chick lawyer Steph , and Washington Post writer.......deserve enshrinement....not sniping. Looking for ulterior motives that don't exist is what the NFL does.

Yeah this is my impression. Sure, he makes money doing what he loves, and doesn't miss an opportunity to promote his site, but he is not a fake fan. Doesnt' come off that way anyway. He comes off like a patsfans poster obsessed with defending our boy.
