Kravitz, Breer and Volin Try to Start Something on McNally and Get Powned

Won't give him the click, mostly because I already know what it is in the column. It will be wildly overly dramatic. Several of the facts supporting his view will be wrong. And most of his sources will talk only about their impressions and unsubstantiated hearsay and opinions. Am I wrong? ;)

Now we need Kravitz to explain the stats on yourteamcheats.com, the Colts' equipment guy's actions. and all the times noise was pumped into the dome over the years, or the time Polian was caught trying to tap into the opposing coaches communications.

Kravitz, you can't talk **** about a team without coming clean about year's. Unfortunately very few of our local media whores have the work ethic to do that. They'd rather sit on their asses and just give Kravitz's column of lies and misrepresentations more credence by spreading his story without a lot of comment.

More garbage.

We have to be ready for a steady drip, drip, drip of crap like this and the cause of our individual and collective sanity would probably best be served if we just ignored it.

I've been saying that since a week before the SB. You know the condos on Storrow Drive that used to have a sign that said "if you lived here you'd be home now?" Well, if people had listened to me back then they might not be home, but they'd be in a happier place.

I used to feel some sympathy for the "woe is me" and the "pity partygoers" who let it get to them, but then they started (and continue) to get on my nerves. I especially can't stand the links to stories that I know are bullcrap. Like the one in this thread.

Here's a good example of the difference between actual journalism and "sports journalism". An actual journalist would have fact checked the source. The journalist might then start with something easy. Like checking how many games the ref actually did in Foxboro. Then the journalist would see that he was severely lied to, and either continue to check the statements against other people, or just throw the story in the junk. A sport journalist on the other hand basically posts the thing on the web at the same time as he is writing it.

Sorry, had to edit the thread title.

This is complete pownage of Kravitz, Breer and Volin by Howe, Price and Daniel who....ummmm actually DID some checking!

Albert Breer ✔ @AlbertBreer
Very interesting background on McNally's previous behavior with the balls ... https://twitter.com/bkravitz/status/644581770797649920…

Albert Breer ✔ @AlbertBreer
Basically, this former official told @bkravitz that Jim McNally was always looking to get to the footballs early: http://www.wthr.com/story/30056286/kravitz-blogindy-based-nfl-official-baltz-was-suspicious-of-mcnally-years-ago…

Ben Volin ✔ @BenVolin
Very interesting. Put his name to it, too http://twitter.com/bkravitz/status/644581770797649920…

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Seems overly dramatic, and Baltz only did 3 of Brady's home games w/ McNally in charge of officials' room, not 10-15 https://twitter.com/KevinRDuffy/status/644592583881170944…

Mark Daniels @MarkDanielsPJ
According to ESPN, McNally has worked with the game balls since '08. That would mean Baltz worked with him 4 times http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/12340408/new-england-patriots-employee-gave-unapproved-ball-official-lines-reports…

Christopher Price @cpriceNFL
A quick check of @pfref reveals that Mark Baltz worked 6 games in Foxboro since 1999. 4 of them were games where Brady was the QB.

None of this stopping other outlets from running with it.

It's already on PFT and NBC Sports, and once it hits there, many other outlets pick up on it.

As of now, there is no Patriots related defense or mention that the facts are wrong. Just the story about McNally's nefarious activity.

Yeah, we should make like some politicians and athletes and not even read this stuff.

The only people whose reaction to all of this really matters are the people actually dealing with it, like Brady, his teammates, Belichick and others who get tarred with the many ugly brushes that get to publish whatever they want to publish.

Brady seems to save his aggression for the field, Belichick for his game planning. I imagine that they will each write a hell of a memoir someday...especially Belichick.

More garbage.

But, here's the thing: I wouldn't be surprised if somebody isn't preparing an "exposé" in book form that details all the Patriots' "crimes" over the years (complete with glossy pictures), supported by a lot of anonymous innuendo salted with a few actual quotes from haters like Balz, who at least have the guts to go on the record (no matter how idiotic their comments), with it's release timed for Christmastime and the Playoffs. The entire project will, of course, have the direct support of HSPN and the League Office. I think we have to be ready for that.

Listen, people. By winning this case, Brady and the NFLPA embarrassed a lot of powerful people.

It wouldn't have been so embarrassing if a Judge on the SDNY had simply issued a dry as sawdust ruling that you had to read half a dozen times before you could figure out what it was saying...but nooooooo, the NFL got Richard Berman who took the League, Wells and, by extension, the owners and ESPN, to the woodshed and humiliated them. These people want vengeance and they are not going to stop until they think they have gotten it.

We have to be ready for a steady drip, drip, drip of crap like this and the cause of our individual and collective sanity would probably best be served if we just ignored it.
We should put our book out first...

Kravitz is the blue-green algae in the evolution of critical thinking, and Breer is that gelatinous seaweed that fouls the beach.

So the only verifiable fact in all of this--the number of games that he officiated in Foxboro--is a clear and unambiguous lie. This guy lied about the one thing that's provable, which means he probably lied about everything else to.

Well, he also said the the reason he reported McNally wasn't a suspicion about the balls, but because he was goofing around with B & B. So ... wait, what?

Good rules for journalists - even the sports variety . Ask these questions when a 'source' feeds you a story:

1. Why am I being told this?
2. Why am I being told this?
3. Why am I being told this?
4. Why am I being told this now?

The true story is not in what you are being told but in the answers to these questions. A true journalist, having worked through this list of questions, and done a bit of rudimentary research, would write a story, not peddling Baltz' BS, but about why Baltz is peddling BS.

How long until Florio figures out the error, given that he's already posted the story?

Florio's last line says it all.

If the league wanted to catch the Patriots it was a no brainer for Goodell to ask M&J to testify under oath at the appeal. He didn't.

I can think of one very sensible and logical reason why he wouldn't and it's not what Patriot haters want to hear.

http://www.csnne.com/new-england-pa...ys-new-england-patriots-jim-mcnally-acted-odd

I asked Jim Daopoulos, a former official and a former NFL supervisor of officials (raised in Marlborough, Mass., for full disclosure) whether he believed McNally’s behavior rose to the level of something that needed to be reported to the league.

“There’s no reason to,” said Daopoulos. “If he had a sideline pass, he could stand in those areas. It’s not our responsibility to police locker-room attendants or what they do. We don’t know what their team responsibilities are.”

For his part, Daopoulos said McNally “was probably the No. 1 guy among all the guys who did the locker rooms. He’s simply a good guy, he does whatever the officials want. Runs around. He just works hard.”
