Great job by him not giving in to the mob and actually thinking about the evidence thats been laid out.

What a sad, sad day where we now depend on Mike Florio to save our team's reputation in the court of public opinion. FML.

Choice nuggets:

The NFL’s in-house justice system, as to this specific case, made the prosecutor the judge. But once the prosecutor developed a point of view, there was no judging to be done. The only remaining task at that point entailed sitting at a keyboard and banging out a 243-page report that justified the conclusion.

Most significantly, common sense suggests that the PSI readings generated by footballs that were hastily deflated on the floor of a bathroom in the bowels of Gillette Stadium would be much lower than the numbers predicted by the Ideal Gas Law. They weren’t.

I also believe that the Patriots didn’t fail to reasonably cooperate with the investigation in refusing to make McNally available for another face-to-face interview. Wells wanted to interview McNally based on information that already was in the possession of the investigation/prosecution when McNally was first interviewed. Wells could have — and should have — asked McNally those questions when Wells had the chance. In no legal proceeding does a lawyer ever get another shot at questioning at witness because the lawyer failed to exercise full diligence in reviewing the materials that were already available.

Finally common sense has arrived. The adults are back in charge.

I believe that the evidence suggests something unusual was happening

They still cling to the notion that 2 texts, without context and from more than 6 months prior, is somehow suggestive of something unusual happening without the framework of "we know something happened".

Let's hope it arrives in California tomorrow.

A follow up to my earlier post:

Take all the evidence that Wells has, but also take the position that the air in the footballs was absolutely within the range it should have been.

Now, if you look at the non-PSI evidence with that being the case, how is the remaining evidence in any way suggestive that "something unusual was happening"?

This is why Florio recognizes Wells had a conclusion before evaluating evidence.

Florio still takes the "evidence suggests something unusual was happening" position, even while bagging on the report, which is my point. He, like pretty much everyone else, fails to make the obvious next step in the logic train.

There's a problem with most people's hamster wheel here, and shrinks could probably get a government grant to study it.

He ain't buyin' the dopey bathroom tale either. More convinced than ever Goodell will turn this over to someone else.

Yeah. For someone who supposedly had deflating footballs with the skills of a NASCAR pit crew, he did a piss poor job either not actually deflating any assuming the logo gauge was use or barely deflating them of the other one was used.

Wow, Florio.

When a Patriot-hating Pittsburgh homer with an audience as vast as Florio's turns in our favor like this, that is encouraging indeed!

It just blows my mind that of all the main stream media, it's Florio that is the one defending us.

This.

If after the suspension if lifted and we get our picks back, he starts reevaluating Crygate, I might spontaneously combust.

Ya wouldnt go that far he is still suggesting that something was going on.

Here's the reality of Deflategate and Florio's piece.

Yes, there was definitely some tampering with the football, if you read the Wells report. It is without question, 100% certain, as stated:

During the second quarter, a member of the Colts defense, D’Qwell Jackson, intercepted a pass
thrown by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and took the football to the Colts sideline. At this time, a
member of the Colts organization measured the pressure level inside the football and reported it to
be below regulation.

In other words, the only team for which Wells was able to achieve certainty as to the question of whether they messed with the footballs was the Colts. Could someone remind me what their penalties were, again?

Yes, Florio, the evidence suggests that something unusual was happening, but it was the Colts who were clearly guilty of doing something 'unusual'.

Sadly, it never was and never will be about logic. Too many lemmings have gone over the edge.

If more of the media would actually read through all the data and apply common sense they would come to a similar conclusion. Sadly its too much work for these dopes and most people are going into this wanting the Pats to be guilty.

Deus took his meds. He's back to making good points again.
