He deliberately just weakened the run defense because of the "patriot way"

Maybe this is my pregame nerves, but this could comeback and hurt the pats.

- He was hurt, probably wasn't going to contribute much if anything.

- If Spikes was being a punk and it was causing tension it makes sense to get rid of him, additional by subtraction and all.

- There were probably other things as well that we don't know about, this was a soft way of sending a message to the rest of the team "do you job or I'll end your season"

Since Spikes was injured there's very little cost but there is some benefit.

This was not a stupid move by BB.

I read he played 12 games on a knee with ligament damage, the knee finally giving out in the Buffalo game. Thats guts, loyalty, and dedication. if he was cut because he missed a few meetings i call Bull ****.

Why do all the drama of releasing someone when they're injured anyway. Besides don't the pats have to pay for his surgery? How can they do that if he's released?

I agree. Spikes gave the team all he had by playing on 1 leg and they wanted to cut him because he was late?

People are just plain stupid, that is all I got here. If you don't put in the effort, if you fack off, if you are stupid you get cut. It happens every year, and every time it does we have some people crying here, oh BB is power hungry, oh he hurt the team, oh boohoo. Come to the damn meetings, do your job, don't be an idiot and it doesn't happen.

As an aside, I also have learned to never take media stories for facts, which many people on this site also have a very difficult time doing.

If you have a job and missed a few meetings unexcused would you still have a job? His being late or missing meetings can screw up jobs for 70 other people.

Also he wasn't cut he was IR'ed.

Saw that too. Surprising, since I always figured when he slipped in the buffalo game, it aggravated his injury.

How is that bad? Spikes basically got fired because bill hates twitter.

Not everyone will get this, but (assuming the story is true) this is one of the reasons that the Patriots have been great since 2001. It's the big picture, when a player gets out of line he is punished. Welker sat due to the Rex foot joke. Marginal players who had been injured preferring to work out away from Gillette are cut. A player is cut the night of the Superbowl to make the team better. Hernandez was cut as soon as the cuffs were on his wrists. This wasn't the first incident of Spikes being in the news, and it wouldn't shock me if he is cut.
So the "power Bill" rants don't get any credibility. You cannot cherry pick Bill's policy, it is what it is, and the Patriot's are contending to be World Champions again. And no, they do not have a better chance with player "A" on the team, because they wouldn't be here if we played that game.

Spikes tweeted a pic last week of his car stuck in the snow, I guess Adalius Thomas wasn't around to help shovel him out.

Obviously myFace would have been more effective.
