Default Mallett will never succeed Brady

Brady has 5 or 6 years left to play and by then Mallett will be in his late 20's where you are expected to have 3 or 4 years of starting experience to be considered a franchise QB. I see Mallett being a franchise QB though, except not in NE, and you have to be wishing Brady to suck or get injured to think Mallett will ever be the face of the Patriots. Mallett is not wating 6 years on the bench to finally start lmao

If Brady does have 5 or 6 yrs left, it's not written in stone that he will play all of those years here.

Interesting comments.. remember Joe Montana and Steve Young, it is good to have what might be a pretty good qb as your back up..

But in reality it is difficult to predict much of anything after half of the first pre season game...

Brady is washed up. Mallett will be starting by week three.

With QBs playing till 40 nowadays I don't see why Brady won't be the starter until he retires. He's never been a guy who used his feet so I can't see him regressing like a Mike Vick or Mcnabb. Unless Brady's arm gets injured he will never be below number 1 in the depth chart. Even if he only plays for 3 or 4 years only it will be too long and Mallett will be gone by then.

Mallet was not brought in to replace Brady. He was brought in to replace Hoyer who will be an RFA after this season. The plan is to unload Hoyer and have a guy already on the roster who has had a year to learn the system.

If Brady only lasts a few more years before hanging them up, Mallet will be an option to succeed him. If Brady stays longer, then Mallet can be dealt for draft picks and the process repeats itself all over again.

Can we now stop talking about this?

He's also one blown blocking assignment away from having his career ended and either of Hoyer or Mallett stepping in to his shoes. That's the nature of football.

Never take anything for granted loloooooooooooo.

this isn't real life buddy it's pretty hard to see the tone in his posts, and considering there are tons of people who are slow in the head in the internet I wouldn't be surprised if he was serious
