On the other hand I agree it would be very easy to kick money back to him. If somebody else ordered and organized those guys to form that wall, they surely want to Alosi happy and in their good graces, and keep him from speaking up.
Big Christmas bonus coming his way this year. This is a 100% cover up. There were 6 of them standing man to man with orders to "get in the way"

Yeah, Goodell's going to do something all right - he'll change the rules to prevent the Gunner from running out of bounds at all and fine the Dolphins player for doing it. The Jets will receive a commendation from the league for bringing this gross infringement of the spirit and intent of the rules to his attention.

Bump. Please get this stream of thought in the national media. Someone?

But let's not take any draft choices away from them; that's like taking a gun from a child. It's the second most productive method they have for creating dead cap space, following only the signing of old vets to contracts they'll finish off on IR.

This is it

They have 6 men here to get in the way. You can see Rex 6 feet away and slightly behind. Is he looking at the ball which was kicked to the other end of the field? No he is watching his guys about to take out the Miami player out of bounds.

Who knows? If it is true the Jets are handling the punishment, there is no way to verify that this guy will be impacted in any way. What prevents the Jets from collecting $25K and then giving him a $25K Christmas bonus in a couple of weeks. Or they could just do nothing and say they did. There are no salary reporting or cap situations so the Jets just drop this guy $100K for a job well done and keeping his mouth shut.

Why don't all teams get to handle their own punishment? Besides the obvious Pats example, what about all the teams that were caught tampering? Because that would be stupid and stink of favoritism and cover-up.

It isn't the crime that gets you...its the cover-up. There were 6 guys in a line where they weren't supposed to be...obviously with an agenda. Check the video, they were right next to Rex. If you were in the middle of a huge game and there was a chorus line of strength coaches, practice squad players, turf specialists and web admins next to you, you don't think you would notice and ask WTF they were doing?

If Rex had come out and said that he lined up those guys to "discourage" the Fins from running out of bounds (which is a penalty) and this bozo went too far, Rex gets a reprimand, it is called gamesmanship and the story dies except as a "Spygate" comeback...and who really cares about that?

Now Rex and the Jets organization are on record as having no knowledge of what was going on. They are lying and people always lie for a reason. The facts of this story will drip out over the next couple of weeks and be a lead weight around their necks. Just what you want as you head out on a 2 game road trip against division leaders, going without a TD for 10 quarters and counting, facing the possibility that your 9-2 team may now need tiebreakers to make the playoffs and your SOV is .383 and only getting worse.

Happy Holidays, Rex.

But it goes against basic human instinct to stay in the path of a player in pads running full speed right towards you. One guy I can see, but every one of them not moving, staying as close as they are allowed to?
Hold.....Hold.....Hold.......Hold

Yep, think back to the original "(fill in the blank)-Gate": Watergate. It wasn't the original crime - the break-in - that did Nixon in; it was cover up and the lies about any knowledge of anything that occurred. Interesting parallels here.

Goodell may be in a tough position here. As a Jet fan he'll want to sweep this under the rug and not even comment on it. But with the CBA negotiations going on, if he does nothing the NFLPA could use this against him in the court of public opinion, pointing out how he has a double standard for players and non-players, and his talk of concern about player safety and integrity of the game is BS.
