Default OT: Anybody else feel sorry for Curtis Painter?

Watching the Colts game yesterday I thoroughly enjoyed watching their season fall short of undefeated, but one black spot shrouded the laughter. Indy's back-up Quarterback Curtis Painter was booed on and off the field. The look in Painter's eyes showed that he was clearly very depressed and I could not help but feel compassion for his situation. Anyone who has played sports at any level above Youth League knows how it feels to be booed, but Painter's situation was worse. He was blamed for the end of the Colts' undefeated season. Of course, Painter's play was terrible, even laughably poor. But he was playing with every other back-up in the game as well, and I dare say that Manning would not fair so well with his All-Star line and Receiving corps sitting on the bench either. I know that, in Curtis Painter's situation, I would of said "Hell with this. Send somebody else out there Caldwell."

No, he's getting paid 6 figures to stay in shape and sit the bench. And he was beyond terrible.

Hahaha I found this humorous, but it's true. The back-up quarterback is the best job in the world. But still, I just felt compassion for his situation.

No, I think Caldwell and Polian were blamed.

I think the Colts faithful were booing the situation, not Curtis Painter, who is actually held in pretty high regard around here. No one, not even Manning would want to play without Wayne and Clark out there. Those two sitting out were about as devastating as Manning coming out. But on the bright side, We still haven't lost our star quarterback for the Season. I know you guys are celebrating in NE, but we can STILL win the Super Bowl with an 18-1 record

Sorry for a Colts play hah that's a new one...but seriously no he has a job to do and didn't do it very well its not like he didn't know he was going to play.. To say he single-handedly costed the Colts their perfect season is laughable at best!

I have to admit I did feel bad for him. Per the Colts fans he did not even get any practice time in last week. The Colts are imploding. Apparently some players have expressed their displeasure and Polian just ripped all the Colts fans.

This firestorm won't burn out quickly. It's a STORY. The mediots will dog Polian and the Colts about it all through their brief stint in the playoffs.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH
