Default Steelers may be down to third string QB sunday...

Ben Roethlisberger injured his head again.

Backup QB Charlie Batch is out for at least six weeks...

Pittsburgh Steelers' Charlie Batch has a wrist injury, will need surgery - ESPN

If Big Ben can't go on Sunday the Steelers will be left with no choice but to go with 3rd string QB Dennis Dixon, rookie QB from Oregon.

Nothing like having your starting QB out in an important division game against a team in the hunt for a wild card slot alongside them like the Ravens...

May not be a stretch to say this but they may not make the playoffs. There are 4 tough games there.

@ Baltimore Ravens
Oakland Raiders
@ Cleveland Browns
Green Bay Packers
Baltimore Ravens
@ Miami Dolphins

Rumor is Jeff Garcia is being brought in to be the backup for Ben now that Charlie is done.

I say screw it, throw Dixon to the wolves if Ben can't go, maybe then our Offensive Coordinator will actually run the ball in running situations instead of going 5 wide from the 8 yard line on 1st fcking down.

Seriously though...if Ben isn't good to go, we are in deep crap.

If he isn't good to go I'd be concerned for his future in football...even if he returns in to weeks it is still a head injury that puts him one huge leap towards forced retirement.

They drafted Dixon for a reason...he played against NFL caliber teams in the PAC 10 and it's 11 weeks into the season so should be able to handle the offense by now.

Baltimore is the one to worry about...Cleveland and Oakland should be easy wins for them even with their rookie third stringer in there. If he isn't back by the Green Bay game they are in deep doo-doo and the playoffs should be the least of their worries.

Rumor is the Steelers are bringing in Tylor Palko (Former Pitt QB, cut by Arizona this preseason) to be on the practice squad and fill in as the #3 guy. Apparently Ben passed all his tests and is slated to play against the Ravens this weekend.

Yep. This most likely means that the Steelers will lose tonight and could make their playoff hopes a lot tougher.

Tyler Palko? Does even Mayock or Kiper know who he is?

I wouldn't put it past the Ravens to take a cheap shot on Dixon in an attempt to force the Steelers to go with this scrub.

I wouldn't put it past the Ravens to take a cheap shot just for the sake of taking a cheap shot...something for the highlight reels tomorrow even if it costs them money.
