Default Chiefs GM Peterson to step down at end of season

ESPN - Kansas City Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson resigns

Will the coach be following soon. Maybe they should bring Marty Schottenheimer back?

Florio threw Scott Pioli's name in as a potential replacement. Some people just never learn.

If we all had a nickel for everytime he was rumored for a job...

He should have "resigned" the minute they traded for Herm Edwards.

probably only GM in history to be allowed to be employed for 20 years without ever reaching championship round even.

They have not had a top ten defense once since Schottenheimer was there a decade ago. He brought in Herm to work on that and this year the Chiefs ranked 30th in points allowed and 32nd in yards allowed. It's been a while, I had forgotten that Marty went to the playoffs with five different QB's: Steve DeBerg, Dave Krieg, Joe Montana, Steve Bono, and Elvis Grbac - and almost made it with a 6th, Rich Gannon.

Funny how both the Chiefs and Chargers couldn't wait to get rid of Schottenheimer, and they plummetted once he left. Even more ironic that fans in both Cleveland and Kansas City want him back now.

I have to agree, it's amazing Peterson lasted this long.
